Strange welcome......

Having eaten at three excellent Trattoria's, we thought we would save the best for last, but alas we should have returned to de Pietro for our last meal in Bologna. Having made a booking for 7.15/ 7.30 pm, I was disappointed to find four members of staff smoking, 2 sitting, 2 standing, encamped at... read more

Wow, I love 'my' TripAdvisor! We always search and research our hotels and restaurants on TripAdvisor, even whilst we are away on holidays! Again, thank you for coming up with this little gem! Hidden in a little laneway near the Piazza Maggiore, a relatively small restaurant, run by very young and energetic people. We arrived as their first customers for... More

This attractive restaurant is located in an alley within a stone's throw from the Piazza Maggiore. It came highly recommended by our hotel staff. The two-room space is spacious and tastefully decorated and exudes warmth and charm. When we arrived at 8 p.m., the evening service was just getting started as guests were arriving. We were seated in the second... More

My last night in Bologna was a Sunday, when many restaurants are closed. On previous evenings I'd stayed close to the hotel, but this time I ventured a bit further and ended up at Vicolo Columbina, which is hidden away down an alley with the same name. I'd read good things about it and was very pleased that I was... More

Traditional food presented in a contemporary way with a gourmet touch. Two guys who know food and wine and know their business offer a great food experience, in a very small street down town, but really down town, Bologna. Nice decoration, present-day, not stuffy, not overdone, very good service, great wine list. Definitely try the deserts-any desert- also.

Very high quality food at a reasonable price (quite expensive though), I had the manzo guancia with fennel purea and my wife had the filetto with bolognese pesto, both are something to remember! varied selection of Italian wines also in half bottle sizes

We were very satisfied with the food, the kindness of the servers, and the atmosphere. As others have said, it is pleasantly modern inside. We enjoyed sitting outside on a beautiful August day. I thought the prices seemed fair for the high quality of the food and experience.

This small eatery is owned and run by two guys who care about both food and wine and is located in the old and central part of Bologna. The service is friendly but proffessional and nice advice given on local wines to accompany your choice of food. This restauant was also a recommendation of our hotel Al Cappello Rosso just... More

Hidden away down a little alley, but only two minutes walk away from the Basilica in the main piazza. A lovely light modern space and a warm welcome. Service is very attentive and professional but not at all stuffy. A good sign, everyone seems happy, staff and diners. The menu is short but very interesting. And then, oh wow, the... More

just few words to address you this tiny and cute small restaurant just next to the Piazza Maggiore. Even if offering traditional dishes in reality they are served in a very nice scenario and with a little touch more. We had Tortellini in brodo, Lasagnette Ravioli with ricotta and they where all great. For drinking we got 2 bottles of... More
