We went for lunch after checking the reviews. It seemed somewhat hidden with the scaffolding outside. We were the only guests at the time. The food choices were excellent and the service good. The linguine with grapes was excellent and simple. The sea bass filets were light and topped with pistachios. The decor was rustic with old photos of Sicily.... More

From previous reviews we were expecting great things from this restaurant and, indeed, our first course of linguine was excellent. However our main courses were a let down. I had what was described as crispy octopus. It was fairly tasteless and by no stretch of the imagination was it crispy. It was served with a very bland and uninspiring potato... More

This is a Sicilian restaurant that specialises in seafood. We thought we had understood the menu outside, which was partly in English. But the waiter, having established that we had only moderate Italian, reeled off a lot of choices that were not written down and spoke only full-blown Italian to us. We ended up having little idea what we were... More

We arrived at this place by chance when other places were fully booked. It was a very lucky find. It is a fish restaurant and is Sicilian, so not typical of Bologna at all. But it is a very pleasant change. We enjoyed what we ate very much - octopus was particularly good - but we were especially charmed by... More

At first, we were hesitant to cross the street from our hotel to eat at a restaurant. Surely, we should search for a place to eat rather than take the easy path. We were glad that we chose the easy path as we woulnd up eatting here for fiven of the seven nights we were in Bologna. (The only two... More

Reading the other reviews, we thought we just had to go, but we're disappointed. Positives: service is friendly and attentive. wine is reasonably priced. Negatives: Service by head waiter too confusing, intrusive and possibly not professional enough. "I am the wine list"... Really??? Then offered just a couple of choices. We were strongly adviced to have a large dentex cooked... More

We googled 'fish restaurants in Bologna' and this was at the top with excellent recent reviews. Called to book but at 8 pm on a Friday there was the two of us and one other couple until 9 when a few more arrived. One of the other couple kept getting up to take calls on his mobile which was being... More

This small, hidden gem of a restaurant came to us when we were turned away from our first choice, due to all tables being taken. While roaming the local streets, trying to find an alternative, we stumbled over Le Mura and went in, not knowing what to expect. What we got was a small, nice restaurant, specializing in Sicilian dishes,... More

Ive marked Le Mura as very good even though we made bad choices with the menu. This is because the staff were so nice and accommodating. The octopus comes whole and, to us was inedible, obviously an acquired taste, they happily changed this for seafood pasta but for some reason they don't use egg pasta and so was quite chewy.... Beautifully cooked squid and shrimp, a dish that normally also has fish but because I am allergic was tailored to my needs. Excellent service. The wine list contained some unusual and excellent selections--Arneis stood out. Sicilian food, not Bolognese but a nice counterpoint to more northern cooking.
