Ive marked Le Mura as very good even though we made bad choices with the menu. This is because the staff were so nice and accommodating. The octopus comes whole and, to us was inedible, obviously an acquired taste, they happily changed this for seafood pasta but for some reason they don't use egg pasta and so was quite chewy.... Beautifully cooked squid and shrimp, a dish that normally also has fish but because I am allergic was tailored to my needs. Excellent service. The wine list contained some unusual and excellent selections--Arneis stood out. Sicilian food, not Bolognese but a nice counterpoint to more northern cooking.

This restaurant is one of my favourites in Bologna. Fish only though, so if not a seafood fan, don't bother. Get a mixture of the cold and hot antipasti along with a couple of pastas to share between you - it's all superbly cooked with lovely fresh seafood. The service is always friendly and efficient. It's not super cheap but... More

Some friends who had visited Le Mura recommended it to me and we were surprised to see that it was opposite the hotel where I was staying. I was thinking of going there on my last night, but I ended up going there earlier when I was unable to get into three other places. Make sure you book if you... More

I have to admit that I was more motivated by convenience than anything else: the restaurant is across the street from Porto San Mamolo, where I was staying. That said, it was probably my best meal in Bologna. The service was attentive, the fish beautifully fresh and perfectly prepared, and prices quite reasonable.

Just opposite our hotel so, very convenient. We had a lobster tail with spaghetti (for 2) delicious. Warm and friendly service

We stayed at the Hotel Porta San Mamolo. The Le Mura restaurant is right across the road of the hotel. We had two dinner while we were there. Very friendly services and great food. The last day we had as primi lobster and pasta and a fresh fish as secondi. The wine suggestion was great with the fish and good... More

This is a seafood-only restaurant, which is just fine as the chef's expertise and passion come through in very-well prepared dishes. The setting is warm and appealing, at once casual but refined. Service by the waitress was as good as I've experienced anywhere in the world - literally note-perfect. Right across the street from the Hotel Porta San Mamolo -... More

We tried Le Mura largely on a whim, since it was just down the street from the apartment we were renting and my wife is a big fan of seafood. As others have noted, this restaurant is all seafood all the time, so if you're not a fan, you'll want to give it a miss. For the seafood lover, though,... More

Le Mura is an interesting place. Firstly, as others have said, anyone planning to dine here should be aware that it is a fish/seafood restaurant *only* - there are no alternatives whatsoever. For me this wasn't a problem as I love fish, but if you were expecting something else it's good to be warned. Starting with the positives, the service... More
