We have read the other reviews which seem to be quite good - however we had a rather different experience. The thing is, in a restaurant with friends the food needs to be good AND the service / friendliness of the staff needs to be good too - if not it can quickly sour the food. Sadly that was our... Rodrigo, situated in the heart of Bologna(very near to the Piaca Magore),is one of the "old"restaurants in town, which was renovated last year(although I loved even more the previous style). Food is perfect, service is friendly, and you can have a really good dinner. And for a non cheap restaurant, food is worth the price

We were a larger group and every single of us was transferred to food heaven when dining at Rodrigo in Bologna. Considerate service, and every dish was prepared with great care and elegant flavours.

My wife and I spent two days in Bologna. Upon arriving our first night, we asked the concierge for recommendations, this was among them. Of course we did our tripadvisor homework ahead of time, but there are no outstanding clear favorites centrally located on Via Independenzia, so we tried this one. It was relatively dead for a Friday night (only... More

The restaurant is located on a street right off one of the main piazzas which makes it easy to get to. The restaurant attracts locals as well as tourists which is always a good sign. In addition it looks as if many Bolognese celebrate special occasions there which says it hold a unique place in their hearts. The menu is... More

After a busy day touring, we went here at the recommendation of a friend back home. He had lived in Bologna and ate here often. We were warmly welcomed by the two owners and given great service. Two looked like brothers, but we did not ask. Food was expertly prepared and served. Since it was porcini season, my wife ordered... More

We came across what we now know to be a famous establishment by total coincidence. We went in at almost 14:00 and were seated after we promised we'd only have a quick lunch. Lunch included: 2 dishes of taliatele with ragu sauce-first course size 2 dishes of tortelini with tomato sauce-first course size 2 bottles of natural water 1 cup... More

The food was fresh and delicious too....very large selection of home made pastas and some wonderful vegetable dishes like fried eggs on green wild asparagus. the service was perfect and some of the regulars and mainly old timers provided...
