We found this gelateria to be a very classic Italian place - crowded and obviously popular with the locals, which is how we found it. Huge crowds outside enjoying their dessert. Good choice of flavors, and helpful staff.

Nothing wrong with the ice cream here, but we didn't think it was outstanding. Some other gelaterias in Bologna are much better, but this one's very handy if you've just come from S. Stefano.

Food and service at Cremeria Santo Stefano are exceptional. I suggest you have lasagne and mozzarella di buffalo with ham. Book ahead to avoid disappointment!!
