My personal favorite gelato here is the Chai Tea gelato. Very unique to this particular gelateria in Bologna. The gelato here is much more creamy then your typical gelato hence they call it a cremeria. There other flavors are great as well as I have not had one so far that I have disliked (I have been there over 10... More

Luckily for me, Cremeria Santo Stefano was located just down the street from where I was staying. This place is a gem. If you're not familiar with a certain flavor, they'll gladly give you a taste. I had never heard of pistachio salato (salted) before. When I mentioned that to the woman behind the counter, she said "Oh, it's so... More

First night in Bologna I found this by chance, second night I went looking for it! Variety, great price, nice staff, they had my favourite (Mascarpone) !!! It's a small space, but has lots of soul and you just won't stop coming for more, I guarentee! I can't express here how great it is, you just have to try it... More

came across this lovely ice cream shop whilst wandering around the area of San Stefano. A sign saying salted pistachio ice cream made with pistachio from turkey i believe. pistachio is my favourite so just had to try it. I ended up trying that alongside another slightly sweeter versio made with pistachios from Bronte. Both were equally delicious

We greedily ate ice cream in a number of gelateria/cremeria in Bologna and Verona, but this one was outstanding. It's way down the street from the centre of town and we were flagging before we found it. Apparently it's only been going for 7 years but the decor has been cleverly contrived to appear as if it's at least 70... More

We stayed in Bologna about a week and went to different gelaterias during that time. This one was down the street from our apt., and we went there our first night in town. It was good, but we didn't find anything spectacular about it. There's a gelateria further down SS. that was much better and had very unique flavors.

This is a bit further down Via Santo Stefano away from the primary tourist spots, but it's not that far. Prices are average for what you find in the area (3.30 euros for a medium-large cone). Their house flavor "Heidi" is a creamy berry gelato with just a bit of tartness that I found well balanced against crema di latte.... More

Stumbled across this amazing place in Bologna. It is worth tracking down. Superb ice cream, just a few freshly churned flavours - some quite inventive (like my 'chai' choice) - delicate and exquisite! From the shop you can see into the kitchen and watch the friendly ice-cream maker at work, obviously taking immense pride in his product. I dream about... More

I always make a point to go whenever visiting my hometown. The choice of flavours may not be massive, but the quality is superb.
