Hilariously bad service

The foods good. Not great, but not bad (ok, by Bologna standards, definitely "meh", but those are _very_ high standards to live up to) The service, however, is ludicrously bad, which would actually be OK, except at the point where we ended up with an argument about whether there was a hair in one... read more

By far. The lady-proprietor so helpful and friendly despite being the only one on duty in a full restaurant and simply outstanding food. The liver was superb - one word of warning, the fillet steak in pepper sauce is veal, not beef (wish I'd checked). Tarta di Nonna also outstanding as were the great pan-fried sauté potatoes. Lovely ambience and... More

What a refreshing change. Really good food and fresh surroundings. Friendly service . Roast rabbit was a dream as was the tris di pasta. Try the lemon pie just sublime. Simple food fresh ingredients and well presented . We will definitely go back.

Food was so delicious, we went twice during a 4 night stay in Bologna. The service was great and the owner speaks some English which helped us. I would throughly recommend it, during both visits the restaurant was very busy.

Stumbled upon this restaurant before going to a concert nearby. The owner let us in a half hour before the normal opening time. We skipped the pasta and went for second courses of schnitzel Milanese (superb) and scaloppine (perfection) with sides of grilled vegetables and potatoes. Have to say that the pan sautéed potatoes knocked out socks off! The owner... More

We stumbled on this place by accident last week - suffice to say the Tagliatelli alla Ragu was out of this world - the only mistake we made was ordering the mixed plate of pasta, meaning this was only 1/3rd of the total dish, although the other two pasta portions weren't half bad either!

This restaurant is around the corner from the AI COMMERCIANTI HOTEL, in a small plaza with an ancient tower. It is a fine restaurant, not a trattoria, with an excellent menu. We had a Vitello Tonato that was excellent, but what was really outstanding was the liver cooked Venitian style. The only place in Bologna that we saw that dish... More

Located ia a beautiful small square in Bologna, I stopped here for lunch. Outside was full so I sat inside. Good selection on the menu with reasonable prices. For starter I had Pappardelle ai Funghi Porcini. I must say it lacked taste, I honestly expected something better. For main I had a grilled fillet cooked medium rare to perfection. It... More

My girlfriend and I ate lunch at this small, inviting looking trattoria in Central Bologna during our long weekend graduate school reunion. Some of the other reviews mention hostile service, but although the proprietor and his wife were slightly grumpy, they were professional and polite. Service was slow, but it was a busy Sunday lunchtime so understandable. The pasta was... More
