Classic, if a bit rough around the edges

Trattoria Tony is very popular locally for good solidly traditional Bolognese food served in a friendly and unpretentious setting. We had dinner here and thought it was decent. Not great though. House red wine was good. Price for meal was good. Bread was fresh. We had potatoes forno, which were cold, but we decided to eat them anyway. Veal with Noce was good - nice flavour. The Cutlet Bologona was fine, just not very tasty. Service was good. Waiter... It's a step up from grandma's kitchen in decor but the dishes are the attraction at this homey trattoria. Visited twice and enjoyed very good meals. Start with their fabulous tagliatelle with ragu ( which to Italian-Americans is Bolognese sauce) Exceptionally nice mixed salads, each one lovingly constructed by La Signora had a selection of all things seasonal ( October),... We wanted classic tortellini, and we got it! Delicious food in a tightly packed, busy restaurant. The prices were very reasonable, and it seemed to be popular with locals.

Really nice Italian food - tagliatelle and lasagne were excellent. Simple, quick and straightforward even for a tourist!

I had lasagna (first course), bolito misto (second course), 1/2 water, 1/2 house wine, and coffee for 32 Euros. Not cheap, but great quality and excellent service. I had never had bolito misto before and I will probably never have it again, and certainly will not try to make it at home, but I'm glad I tried it once to... More

It'a typical italian trattoria, you can find good fresh pasta and some traditional dishes. It's simple and not pretentious, for me absolutely to recommend. I think the best you can eat there is tagliatelle with ragu'.

This restaurant was recommended by our hostess, but we found the food to be average for a city that boasts excellent cuisine. We arrived at seven, and despite the published opening time of seven, we had to wait for the doors to be open. We had questions about various items but received little help, perhaps because we did not speak... More

We had an overnight stay in Bologna as we were traveling from Rome, north, to Salzburg, Austria via the train. Our hotel recommended this great restaurant. It was a wonder summer night and we sat outside. The wine selection and food were very good. The prices quite are reasonable. The pasta and all the sauces are hand made with much... More
