We celebrated the 30th birthday of my boyfriend here - what a treat! The Osteria is in a suburb of Bologna, but it was worth taking a cab to get here. The food is beyond comprehension and the owner of the restaurant explained us everything in detail. As an appetizer we had a ham/salami and cheese plate, the sausages are... More

Very original cooking. A lovely owner/waiter. His dad makes the salami for the starters. We had hare pasta ..very unusual cooking done with real interest in combining unusual ingredients.

We visited twice during our stay in Bologna, the restaurant was recommended by our wonderful host at B&B Pozzo Di Mezzo. It is not a fancy restaurant, but they focus on the food and their friendly service. They offer both a Classic menu and an innovative one with their own flair and sometimes a 'twist' on the Classics. Some choices... More

Great food, great ambiance, great people, just great. Local, authentic food where we were the only tourists in the place. People waiting for a table. Make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment.

We were party of 11 on a very busy Saturday night. A warm friendly welcome from the owner Fabrizio created a great atmosphere. We enjoyed a selection of starters/pastas/main courses and deserts, until we could eat no more. Each course prepared and presented with explanations. This restaurant outshines much higher profile restaurants both in quality of it;s food and customer... More

This is a great example of a local, non tourist osteria serving both typical classic Emilgian dishes as well as more innovative items. Warning: not in the historic center, out in Savena area, a modern working class neighborhood. Take a cab! To get a same night Friday night table we had to come at730 and give up the table by... More

Ask frabrizio for his expertise as it is vast. His cheese supplier is top knotch and many items are locally sourced, fresh. Others are made by his father, who we suppose was the chef. We did not get to try the reveres bolognese or the handmade sausages but I can say the pasta and gnocchi were one of the more... More

We've been traveling all over Italy for the last 10 days and this was one of the best dining experiences we've had yet! It's a funky laid back type place with an extensive menu of local favorites as well as some really esoteric items. We started with the home made sausage and meat plate and the scallops. We then had... More

Food - excellent Service - excellent Value for money - excellent It is rare to have the opportunity to praise a restaurant in this way. This is a lovely family-run restaurant with a great atmosphere, a slightly quirky look and warm welcome. You do need to book and we were glad we did as we went on both a Saturday... More

Food was amazing, service great and a fantastic atmosphere. This is a very small family run restaurant in which a lot of the meat is made prepared by the owners father, we had the rustic platter to stater which was truly amazing each piece of meat tasted better and better. The tortellini was scrumptious and the polpette even better we... More
