We have been back to Bologna several times, and Al Sangiovese still remains our favorite. We try to dine here at least 2-3 times per trip and it never disappoints! Even more amazing is we always order the exact same dishes each and every time! Wonderful owners, chefs and reasonably priced, but best of all is the food and a... More

We were staying at the next door hotel, Hotel Porta San Mamolo, and they recommended this restaurant. We were initially skeptical since the restaurant was right next to the hotel. But this turned out to be a really great experience. The food was delicious, the service very good and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at this restaurant. It was certainly... More

very accomodating to our party of 10. The host suggests nice wines ( and not the most expensive ones on the list).

Having heard the great reviews about the restaurant prior to our 4 night stay in bologna we decided to go on our last night and what a great decision it was! We were greeted by a very smily happy lady who offered us a table either inside or outside. As we were quite warm we decided to eat inside and... More

For our first evening in Bologna we ate at one of the restaurants near our hotel. It was a very good choice. The small menu was full of local specialities, perfectly cooked, and with good local wine. I had to start with the Bologna signature dish of tagliatelle al ragu which was far better than anything similar I had tasted... More

I visited with 2 local business friends this week. The general impression when you enter is a well run restaurant with attentative staff. All tables but the one reserved for us were occupied which is also a good sign! The furnishing is traditional and elegant. With a little bit of discussion in Italian with the female owner my friends ordered... More

We recently ate here with a friend who had been before. She picked our entrees and we were delighted with the taste treat. The pastas were wonderful and we ate every bite! This restaurant sets away from the main part of town and is close to Hotel Porto Mamolo. Give it a try and you'll enjoy a great meal.

Popular local restaurant ( booking advised as people were being turned away) . Excellent local food and large portions. Well run by the friendly cheerful lady owner. Good food, good wine and reasonably priced. Recommended.
