A bit out of the way, south of piazza maggiore (right next to the viale), this casual neighborhood spot has all the bolognese classics, with - wait for it - Sangiovese being the centerpiece. Pretty much anything the owner (who is probably your waiter too) recommends will be worth getting - mind you, what he recommends may or may not... More

Our friends in Bologna suggested this restaurant .It was my favorite in dinner during our three week trip to Italy. Such a charming restaurant as well .The food was excellent and the desert was the best I've had in any county the owner a very lovely lady told me this was her grandmothers recipe .Outstanding!!!

The couple who owns the restaurant is super nice and friendly. The food is typically bolognese, and absolutely delicious. It's a relatively hidden place, but it's always full with locals. Definitely make a reservation. Everything is delicious, but the fillets and the tortelloni are to die for.

Hidden away on a quiet street, don't let the empty tables at 7pm fool you, the clued up diners have already booked the tables for eating after 8 as many Italians do.. We were one of the lucky ones to turn up without a reservation and get a table, others were not so lucky. The service was friendly with a... More

We were recommended to try this restaurant by our charming host at Bologna nel Cuore, and what a wonderful find it was. A family run Trattoria in quit neighbourhood, the place looked very inviting, and we were warmly welcomed. We chose a delicious Sangiovese from the owner's wineyards, which paired well with the delicious homemade Lasagne verde alla Bolognese. For... More

We arrived the day we dined here and were very jet lagged. Our hotel called and asked them to open a little early for us and they welcomed us to come in before their normal hours. The food was very good and their house wine was local and also very good.

We ate here on our last night in Bologna and we apparently saved the best until last. We were welcomed with a cheerful "buon giorno," given our choice of tables in the small but attractive dining room, and set about going over the large and varied menu and impressive wine list. We had the cheese selection for antipasto. It was... More

Ate here with friends on a Saturday night in November. Actually I thought I had booked for Friday (my mistake) so when we arrived only to find we did not have a reservation we were a little disappointed (well the others in the party were disappointed in my organisational skills). Whilst the hosts could not fit us in as they... More

I chose to dine here twice during my stay in Bologna, the first time based on TripAdvisor reviews and proximity to my hotel, and the second because the first time it was just so darn excellent in every way. The second visit did not disappoint either. Whether you’re staying nearby or across town, this place is worth trying if you’re... More
