This is a family run restaurant of the highest quality, food and wine are very good and modest prices. The owners are very involved in helping you make the right choice, everything was perfect. When I asked for a local wine recommendation, they pointed at a picture by our table of a vineyard ( they owned) YES the wine was... More

Easy 15 minute walk from the centre of bologna and well worth it. Beautifully presented antipasti and superb beef fillet or veal scalopina. Above all very friendly service in this family restaurant

This restaurant was a real find. The couple who run it are delightful. The lady speaks really good English. A fantastic menu with beautifully cooked, fresh meals. The atmosphere is quiet and pleasant. We waited a very short time for our meal which was excellent and so very fresh. I can strongly recommend the pasta in a broth which was... More

Ate at Al Sangiovese’s during our recent break in Bologna. The food is fantastic along with the service. An excellent choice of menu with something for everyone. Great value too.

We were a group of 10 friends and I had booked table in advance, and we stayed in Bologna for four days. This was our best meal by far and that was the impression of the whole group. The service and atmosphere just topped the evening. If I ever return to Bologna I will be sure to make more than... More

This was on of the best restuaurants i have visited. You need to reserve a table if you want to make sure to get a table. The service was very good and they always recommended what we could choose. The pre course with a variety of cheese and meats was excellent. In total I liked all the dishes I ordered.... More

My daughter study's in Bologna and has been told to go but hadn't. We went as a group with two of her friends. It was a great meal. A bit hard to find initially and we were quite cold walking across town to get there, but that disappeared when we got down to it. Restaurant was full at 8pm on... More

We ate at Al Sangiovese twice during a 6 night stay in Bologna. The service was terrific and the food very enjoyable - be warned, it's quite easy to overeat! The Antipasti Al Sangiovese is a particularly good choice. One warning - book in advance as it's quite popular.

This is a restaurant not just a Pizzeria/Trattoria. Food was excellent, and service personable. Full of locals, and you need to book a day in advance - says a lot. A bit remote if you are not staying near by, but we were and we loved it. Reasonably priced.

Having lived around the corner from this tucked away gem, it took me nearly a year and a half to finally have a meal here. I've tried to stop in on numerous occasions, but always last minute. Here a reservation is a must! Finally, with enough planning my roommate reserved a table and boy am I glad she invited me!... More
