We went here on a recent trip to Bologna. We were dumped in a basement room, that it soon became clear was reserved primarily for non-Italians......it was windowless and souless. We asked the waiter if we could get a table upstairs, to which we got a rude reply. The waiter had a problem with his personal hygene and this odour... More

This place is a bit out of the centre of bologna, our cab cost us £15 and we were on the left side of the city. Food at this restaurant is excellent…they have local cuisine as well as a season section. I had the rabbit and it was so good. My GF is veg and there were great options for... More

We had dinner at the Bitone on March 2013, not too many people there, maybe the italian crowds were out of Bologna for Easter holidays. Everything was ok, but that's the problem: for the price you pay you may expect something more. Special mention for a sweet Easter cake: Colomba di Verona. Excellent. Nice dinner but if I'm back in... More

My wife and I ordered the 60 and 80 euro chefs tasting menus. The waiter, who was very professional, seemed surprised and took a double take at the menu to see what it was. Should have realized then this was not commonly ordered. The first two dishes of rabbit salad and my tortolini were excellent. Our next course which was... More

The food and service are exemplary. The owner/chef Cesare really shows the passion he has for cooking. I have been here many times and it never ceases to please the tastebuds. The zabaglione is to die for as is the home made pasta especially when truffles are in season and shaved on top!

I have been a few times to Bitone, and I return every time I am back to Bologna. Expect to have a true gastronomic experience, with a fantastic wine list and a very friendly service. As in upscale restaurant, expepect accordingly prices, but worth every cent you spend here.

The restaurant is 45 minutes drive from the hotel which I was staying. The service was very good and you need to book this restaurant in advance. It was kind of full with lots of Italians.

I had read many gluten free guides saying finding pasta in Italy would be easy but was not having any luck in Bologna, until Bitone. When I asked I was informed that yes, they had gluten free crackers and tagliatelle. It could be served with white truffles or in the traditional style. As I dined at Bitone 2 nights, I... More

This restaurant is 15 minutes from the tourist part of Bologna....and it is so worth the trip. Very good true Italian food. We sampled the ravioli, tortellini, lasagna and gnocchi! The tortellini and lasagna were our favorites. Also...for dessert order the gelato with balsamic....they take a whisk and prepare it in front of you...Delish!!
