The best restaurants in Bologna are definitely hidden away in the side streets and this is one. It is a perfect dining experience - a stylish large room with attentive but not overbearing service, a good selection of nicely cooked dishes including an amuse bouche and a good quality but reasonably priced wine list. It is little wonder that so... More

Although not far from the Piazza Maggiori off Piazza Gallileo his great restaurant is located in an unassuming back street. It's well worth seeking out though and in contrast to our other dining experiences in Bologna was certainly more like fine dining. From the delightful amuse-bouche of fresh ricotta with sun-dried tomato and black olive bread to the flavoursome risotto... More

Third time at this excellent Tattoria in 3 years. Top quality food served with style. Four courses each for four people, all excellent from the fois gras to the suckling pig via the champagne and prawn risotto and the light and crispy calamari with ginger and squid ink Mayo. Good inexpensive wine and a range of dessert wines to finish.... More

Saw this restaurant whilst wandering around Bologna and read the reviews so decided to pay a visit and I'm glad we did. The service was great and the food was incredible. I had calamari like I'd never had before followed by turbot cooked to perfection. This place is well worth looking for.

If you are looking for a top class restaurant with fantastic, creative food and a great wine cellar ... don't waste much time in looking around and head to Via del Battibecco, where you will find the best restaurant in the city center. I have been there many times and they have never ever disappointed me. Most of the customers... More

Whilst in Bologna we were recommended the restaurant by our hotel, the food was excellent well presented and very tasty. The service was very good and the staff very helpful. It is defiantly worth trying here if you are in the area, you will not be disappointed

I cannot understand why the staff put Italians in one part of the restaurant and others in another....I found this distasteful! That being said it was a good meal of an inventive nature and very good wines by the glass.

Following a long, grueling trip from New York which featured delayed flights and missed connections, a large group of my colleagues and I decided to dine at Battibecco based on a friend's experience here many years ago. Fortunately for all of us, this Trattoria still remains an excellent choice. By the time we finished our meal, our travel ordeal had... More
