stylish and modern

This is a modern restaurant with equally modern food with a traditional touch. The service was friendly and helpful and the food good. the bill was a touch pricey for what we had , but we enjoyed our experience. Well located close to Piazza Maggiore.

You know it's good when the locals dine there! We had a lovely meal on a Saturday night. Would recommend pre-booking. Slightly more than a typically meal in Bologna but not by much and it was definitely worth it for one meal in our trip. Great service, ambience and off the main tourist spots so you would have to know... More

I came here with a small group based on a recommendation of a local friend. The wine list is huge and the prices seemed a bit high, but our selection was perfect. I had a basic local pasta dish with sausage called Gramigna di Pasta Fresca con Salsiccia and it was delicious and then followed with a beef dish (filet),... More

We found this by accident and it was amazing! The staff were lovely- brought us an English menu and explained we could have any of the meals as an antipasto then any as a main. Neither were small but delicious especially the risotto- cooked perfectly without any cream! Meatballs were dried fried in breadcrumbs- wonderful taste. We both had to... More

One of the best meals in a restaurant my wife and I have ever had. We each had 3 courses all of which tasted superb. Restaurant was just round the corner from our hotel and we left it till our final evening to dine there. The staff were excellent and not intrusive during the meal. Excellent wine selection. Do book,... More

Having recovered from a most pretentious experience, what a relief to find the real thing. A charming restaurant, a large room with interesting wooden carvings but most importantly good service and great food. We were served a pot of little meat balls (polpetto ?) which were delicious whilst we read the menu. The restaurant was full, mostly locals, some tourists,... More

We were shopping around the block and asked for a recommendation. We gave it a shot as the store employee gave us this recommendation without much thought. We were early for dinner and stopped for a glass of wine next door. We came back when it opened (7:30 on a Wednesday I believe) and without a reservation they were able... More

I had such a great evening at Battibecco! The food was excellent. The ambiance was really good and the staff was very friendly. When I visit Bologna again next month, I'll definitely come back to this restaurant!

Arrived at the Al Cappello Rosso fairly late and decided to eat close to the hotel. Spied this resaurant down a side street. Liked the look of the room. Liked the look of the menu. Liked the look of the prices. We were not disappointed. Got our vote for a return visit on our last evening. I could have ate... More
