Ate there twice during my stay in Bologna. Stumbled onto it for lunch. Doesn't look like much from the outside, but very modern décor inside. Had maccheroni with saffron, ham and peas-yum! Went back for dinner-seafood was really good. A little pricey but worth it.

I was recommended this lovely restaurant by a shop owner who assured me that I wouldn't be disappointed. I'm pleased to say she wasn't wrong. Trattoria Battibecco is a quaint little restaurant in a lovely part of Bologna. Once inside you realise that this isn't a typical trattoria, but a very modern establishment. The décor is pleasant and welcoming as... More

This was a lovely, romantic spot for a creative meal in Bologna. It was creative - seafood oriented and simply delicious. I would strongly recommend it. They also had wait staff who spoke English, always a plus.

The trattoria is quiet, relatively small and at first sight looks very pleasant but unexceptional. Don't be deceived. The service is impeccable, smooth, warm and friendly. And the food is stunning. It's at least as good as food we have been served in Michelin starred restaurants: complex, subtle and with lots of nuances. The bonus is it's about half the... More

We were happy to find this cosy place in this crowded and noisy students' city. High class Cuisine. Great choice of wines. Attentive and friendly staff. Highly recommendable!

A delightful experience on the 3rd July. We were a party of 8. The food and service was absolutely fantastic! Recommendations - The Fiorintina Steak, The Arnachini and the House Fizzante by the Litre. Great Value. Highly recommended!

We found this restaurant by chance, and we're very lucky to get a booking. The restaurant gets extremely busy so would recommend making a reservation. The food was outstanding and the wines superb. Would definitely recommend for a visitor to this beautiful city

The décor was modern but traditional at the same time. The food definitely a cut above the standard Italian restaurant. The service was refined but very good and not too many smiles but what was required. The wine list was good and modestly priced. The main feature was the modern slant on Italian food, very well presented and tasty. The... More

On our hotel's recommendation, we tried Trattoria Battibecco and were not disappointed. It offers modern Italian cuisine in serene surroundings with discreet service. My stuffed eggplant was delicious and the crusted monkfish one of the best fish dishes I have tasted. In a town where good food places are plenty, this restaurant delivers.

My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised to find yet another great restaurant in Bologna. They clearly have a very good chef in the kitchen. The waiters work very efficiently and food is brought to the table hot. Great pasta. My husband had pork that was very tender and I had fish that was not overcooked. The tables were... More
