My husband and I were very pleasantly surprised to find yet another great restaurant in Bologna. They clearly have a very good chef in the kitchen. The waiters work very efficiently and food is brought to the table hot. Great pasta. My husband had pork that was very tender and I had fish that was not overcooked. The tables were... More

Going around Bologna without knowing where to dine? I strongly suggest this trattoria. It's located in the very centre of this city, just few steps away, and right after the door you will find yourself in the typical Italian trattoria. Nice and quiet atmosphere, warm service (able to speak English) and all you might think of Italian cuisine. Prices are... More

Bologna is stuffed with a wide variety of, mostly execellent, low and mid-range osteria's and trattoria's. If you're in the mood for something slightly more ambitious, however, Battibecco could be for you. A small place with tables a bit more spread out than you would find in the average trattoria. Stylish and polished service. Great food and wines with just... More

Emilio Romagna and Bologna are renowned for the quality of the local produce and cuisine. Battibecco is a local highlight. The food is excellent, the ambiance more formal than most of the restaurants in Bologna and fitting with the standard of service and cuisine on offer. If you are into such things, the goose liver was the best I have... More

We were very pleased with this restaurant. It is attractive, relaxing, has atmosphere,.good service, excellent food and wine. It was a litte more pricey than the tourist's restaurant in the area that the hotel recommended but well worth the difference. It was a lovely Bologna dining experience. My husband's cutlet Bolonese was delicious. They served a tiny complimentary glass of... More

The region is full of wonderful places to eat and this is no exception. The service is good - friendly and helpful without being in your face. The food wonderful and despite its Michelin star no more expensive than many other restaurants. Especially heartening to see families with children eating there with enjoyment rather than going to the McDonalds on... More

Had read about this restaurant in several lists on where to eat. Suggestions on the wine was great and not the most expensive. Food made on the spot not reheated like you find elsewhere. Decorations lovely but can't put my finger on it. It wasn't what it could have been. Maybe all the lists made the staff a bit too... More

nothing to dislike. We were in Bologna five years ago and were told this restaurant was the best. And it was although hard to find Little did We know that it was now just around the corner. We got in late and they were closing up but provided us with food and service and smiles. Still the best.

If the word 'trattoria' conjures up a small eatery with red checkered tablecloths and fiaschi of Chianti strung along the walls, this place will come as a shock... They have had the designers in, and the result is a very stylish dining area with food to match. In August it's too hot to eat outdoors, and we were glad of... More

This restaurant was a recommendation on Tripadvisor rather than a local referral or a 'just wandered in'. We sat and started to be concerned- we noted on the menus that the 'coperto' or table cover cost was €14 euros for the four of us! We were outside in a small alleyway with the scooters of the hotel staff opposite and... More
