We had read a lot about dining in Bologna, and Diana continued to pop up in recommendations from various sources. We had a very wonderful lunch there. The white coat waiters provide exceptional service. The food was top notch-the specials of the day were the way to go. My husband had a veal dish that was a highlight of his... More

Always perfect, from 'il carrello di bolliti' to the arrosti, very tastefull. But, if you are that lucky to be in Emilia Romagna in september you will probably be eager to taste (and smell) the freshly harvested 'tartufo': OK, you order a tagliatelle, tagliolini or capelli d'angelo (all 'al uova') with tartufo. OK, you trip is already paid. Fantastic (still... More

Diana is a fixture in Bologna with handmade pastas, succulent meats and the MOST gracious and respectful of waiters. We have been to Bologna many times, and are never disappointed when dining here. Torteloni en Brodo, the local specialty, couldn't be better. Highly recommended.

Food and service were good. Nice terrace outside. Reccomendation is to taste traditional local dishes from menu.

We had our first meal here as it was highly recommended. The waiter was not so welcoming. Started with Pate Olive and Fig which were very good. We had tagliatelle con il ragu alla bolognesse and Rognoncino alla Diana. The tagliatelle was rather bland but the rononcino was perfect. A rather good lunch except for the service where the waiter... More

Had dinner here last night. The waiter we had was pleasant and funny but every course was served too quickly as if they were in a hurry to serve you and get home! We both had tortellini in broth. They were trying too hard to sell ice cream and chocolate sauce for dessert which seemed due to the fact the... More

We very much enjoyed our meal here, mostly especially watching a large party of locals enjoy a multi-course, extensive, family style meal served with elegance and flair at their table. I wouldn't, as others have done, call the staff rude, but Diana does not cater to tourists. Our food, while considerably more modest, was outstanding.

Since Diana is reputedly the quintessential Bolognese restaurant, we felt we had to go there. No real complaints about the food - it wasn't awful. But this is a city full of fabulous restaurants with outstanding food so to have just an average meal is a wasted opportunity. I agree with others' complaints about the service. When we first sat... Plain rude service. Curt and terse. Lack the warm hospitality that is typical of a down to earth bolognese restaurant. Leaves a bad after taste.

Very outdated restaurant. Despite a surplus of waiters, the service was poor. Dirty cloth on the serving table. Food was not anything special either. Only good thing was the wine and the company!
