better than the cafe, but stiil a long way from good

After the very long tour of the vatican museums, we needed something to eat so tried the self service restaurant. The menu selection was pretty poor, reminded me of school so we did the meal deal, a fairly big pizza slice, cake and water for €8 each. It was not bad, filled us up and was good... read more

Forget the rip off part the staff are unfriendly and couldn't care less about their job, shame really as they could maximise this business and get more out of it. Avoid this place

Once you are inside the Vatican Museum area you are pretty much trapped if you need a drink or something to eat. We ate here mid-way through our visit as we inevitably needed a break. Uninspiring food, not very fresh and we found quite unhelpful and dismissive staff. Given that you are in one of the most amazing places to... More

When booking a ticket to the Vatican online, one has the option to book a "lunch at the museums", which to us sounded rather nice. I think we imagined a nice restaurant, a decent menu and a pleasant atmosphere. At 18 eur for this extra luxury (34 eur together with the entrance fee plus another fee of 4 eur, a... More

We were desperately hungry and decided to stop by for a cappuccino and pastries. The cappuccino tasted vile and was served in a flimsy plastic cup. The pastries were rubbery and tasted of plastic. The only saving grace was that it only cost us 7e. The ladies at the cashier were quite nice and efficient.

After spending hours walking around the Vatican me and my family wanted to eat a late lunch somewhere nearby so we chose this place. The coffee was in a tiny plastic cup and was of terrible quality and the food (we chose pasta and salad) was awful. The seafood smelled and tasted terrible and the pasta itself was wet and... More

Located within the Vatican Museum area, this self-service canteen is a good option for a quick lunch. Better come before lunch time, to avoid big crowd!

As anybody else I guess, the Vatican Museums are so large that sooner or later you want something to eat just to recharge the battery. We decided for the Pizza option and to be frank it wasn't that bad. What was bad was that you can actually buy only the menu option: pizza + water; pizza + drink; etc. actually... More

After many hours of walking around the Vatican Museums it is of course necessary to eat. Unfortunately the choices are limited and you are somewhat forced to eat in the canteen style self-service restaurant that has a very school canteen feel. The staff are efficient, but not very welcoming. They've clearly had enough of dealing with foreign visitors that don't... More

When spending a day in the museum and when not willing to leave for one of the better restaurants nearby, one can survive by eating here. It is passable and gives you some energy, but don't expect anything special
