The Little "Bar" on a Hill

Gina was a restaurant that I found with my friends when I was walking around downtown. We were near the Spanish steps and we found a cute little restaurant half way up a hill. It was a great place to get a quick bite to eat. The restaurant is filled with very artistic paintings on the walls. They... read more

We had lunch it GiNa and thought it was a nice, rather hidden place next to the Spanish steps which is not that crowded as the rest of the area. The food is good, however, nothing special, but that's not what this restaurant strives for - it's just a nice place to have coffee, a glass of wine and a... More

We waited until 11 because that is when they were supposed to open. It looked nice from outside. When we arrived at 11.10 they said they were still closed as their bread delivery had not arrived. I asked how long it would take: half an hour, perhaps, the waitress said, with an Italian shrug of the shoulders so we gave... More

Gina was recommended by our hotel. We wanted something close light food chic and delicious. Gina scored on all points. Delicious salads and reasonably priced , considering the quality ingredients. Would definitely return

We ate at this restaurant 2 years ago on our last trip to Rome. It was really good, so we were looking forward to returning on this trip. However we were disappointed. Service was slow. Food was average. We were told they were out of club sandwiches, but 5 min after, the couple sitting beside us ordered club sandwiches and... More

If you're in Rome and sick of the old stuffy Italian Bars and just need something fresh and not necessarily pizza, pasta. This is a good and clean choice. Reasonably priced. They didn't have Rose wine so they don't get a five.

This is a trendy lunchrestaurant in a more expensive area. It´s very clean and fresh. I have only been there once. For the price I was not impressed by the sandwich I had, but the sallads they had at the next table looked fresh (also expensive). They offer picnic package which is a good idea if you´re heading for Villa Borghese.

We wanted to have a picnic at Villa Borghese and came here to rent a picnic basket. There were 3 options to choose from, we chose the basic basket and were not disappointed! The basket contained everything one might need for a picnic, from plates to a garbage bag and of course very nice sandwich, salad, snacks and even a... More

Was the attraction of the salads on the menu - but too Americano - and salad was disappointing. Nothing 'Italian' about this, and think it may be a chain - which I have been trying to avoid. And NO expresso?????

We had A few hours to spend before our planned visit to the Borghese gallery. We went to GiNa and rented a picnic basket. 40€ (and a deposit, for the basket) for a splendid lunch for two outdoors. We had a sandwich and a salad, two bottles of water, sliced bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar, sliced fruited, bag... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
