I have to admit that I really prefer pizzas with fat crust. Dar Poeta is a pizzeria that is specialised in fat-crust pizzas, called Napolitana. It was the best pizza I tasted in Rome. Fresh and tasteful. Then I asked my fiancee (who was also enthused) whether she would prefer to order a pizza delivery from this pizzeria or a... more

This place was not easy to find but we ate some of the best Pizza in Italy there. The appetizers were very good (Capreze and Brochette) and the pizza was excellent. We ate their Calzone filled with nuttela and cheese- very yummy!!! The price was not expensive and the service was very good. more

We had to come back to Dar Poeta twice on our stay in Rome---the pizza, atmosphere, and food were just lovely. The dining room gets crowded early---make sure you make a reservation in advance. We tried multiple pizzas and appetizers and everything was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked. This is one of the most popular pizzeries in Rome and is... more

The pizza, salad, and red wine were all yummy, and when we got the bill, it was surprisingly reasonable. This seems like a very popular spot. Right after we arrived, the place filled right up. Sitting outside seems to be the popular option. At night, this is a very boisterous party area, so if you like nightlife, this is a... more

Dar Poeta came highly recommended on this site, as well as in the Rick Steve's Italy book, so we saved it for our last meal to top off our trip. We had been to about 10 other pizzerias on our trip, but Dar Poeta is in a completely different league than any other place we ate. All of their dishes... more

This place has helped redeem pizza in Italy for us. Living in NYC we have very high standard for our Pizza and while in Italy in the past we have had ok pizza this place was the game changer!! This place was a great find in a great little area and little off the main path. We were sat right... more

When we got there the guy at the door told us it would be 15, maybe 20 minutes. We got in a little more than an hour later to a table so small it was like a kid's tea party, and it was in a space so tiny that my friend had to pull the table right up to his... more

The reviews are right, this place rocks. After meandering down back streets we finally came upon the place and it was full of italians inside an out. We were pretty much the only "tourist", or so it seemed. We made a reservation and were seated in 5 minutes. We got some bruchetta and two pizzas and two beers. The bruchetta... more

An Italian friend in New York suggested we try this spot and boy, what a great recommendation. The service was very attentive—when we arrived there were people crowding the sidewalk waiting for tables. A gentleman came up to us right away and told us that the wait would be no longer than 15 minutes. We were actually seated much faster... more

The tribe voted unanimously. The best ever. It's the crust - very thin, but with a nice bite and chew. Great topping combinations. I liked the "carpaccio de mare" with thin slices of swordfish, potato and garlic. Great, friendly, casual service. Quaffable "vino della casa." Pizzas go from 5 to 9 Euros, so a very reasonable meal. Come early if... more
