a truly wonderful place

this is where to go to get great Italian food in a local but upscale restaurant. A wide variety but centered on meats. Lots of local color. Eat outside if the weather permits.

If we had seen the bathrooms BEFORE eating we would have run away . Fortunately we did not and stayed . Service was very disorganized , one waiter for a big room , but he was very nice . This is a sunday night at 10. 15 and most of the dishes are not available anymore . Which is a... More

On our last day in Rome, we stumbled upon this amazing dining experience. We meet who we thought was the owner at 7:30 pm ( no one was in the restaurant at the time) and he said we could sit. He brought us champagne to drink and then Italian bread and fresh procuita as an app. We didn't ask for... More

I was invited by locals to this very nice Romano restaurant. Menu is only in Italian, the food is very good, the service is good but mainly in Italian too. The prices are average to high, but it was nice for a change to enjoy a bit of the local culture, the risotto was excellent. They have mushrooms speciality and... More

I have been few days ago to get my lunch with my girlfriend. The place is clean, hospitable, we met professional staff and superb roman food. Price according to the category. We don't drink wine, but we saw a well furnished wine list. The place is more used by local people rather than tourists.

Excellent food, cooked in a traditional way, using excellent quality materials. Please add english menus or english speaking waiters, so as to assist us to order more comfortably and enjoy more dishes.

My family was so fortunate to be invited by a true Roman family to experience this gem! This is by far one of my favourite restaurants I have ever been to! I kept my mouth shut and asked the host to order for me. I certainly wasn't disappointed! Not a tourist in site. Just perfect.

After reading all of the reviews here, my husband and I were excited to experience Il Caminetto, which was a 15 minute stroll from our hotel (Hilton Garden Inn Claridge). What a disappointment. The service was unwelcoming. The waiters seemed annoyed that we did not speak Italian very well. They were scarcley available to take our order, explain the specials... More

Staying in Parioli

Neighborhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
