Giving always attention to meet the changing course of the latest trends, the restaurant has the culinary agility to anchor the current fashion to the heritage of the rules and quality of the food products, maintaining the delicate equilibrium between discretion and popularity. In this way, we assure our guests to be present, without appearing. The original customs officer and the modern host, preserving the historic mission of the place, have been followed by a family known as connoisseurs of taste: the perfection of the proposed cuisine, offered in an ambiance enhanced by the beauty of the great artworks and the meticulous attention for each guest, so to guarantee an exclusive atmosphere combined with the warmth of a comforting familiarity. Our guest, no matter from which movie set arrives, or for how long hasn’t come, is always welcomed with a smile, a shake of hand, a delicious meal accompanied by an excellent wine and with the warmth of the art surrounding this fascinating angle of Rome. We know well that what the body nurtures is not foreign to the soul.

Go with a very empty stomach

I went with a group of about 30 people and we had a pre-arranged menu. The food was outstanding with the two (yes, two) pasta courses served to each person's plate from a huge bowl. Other courses included fish and veal. All delicious and served with typically amazing Italian wine. Everyone was... read more

We visited this restaurant in September 2014 for our wedding anniversary after being recommended by our hotel. Firstly you just know it's top notch due to the amount of celebrity pictures hanging on the walls who have visited. The service was great, they explained the menu, offered recommendations on both food and wine and were quite dishy to look at... More

A rather self important restaurant with average food. Delightful waiters. When the owner has to hype his establishment with pictures of himself with celebrities one has to wonder what is more important ...the pictures or the food. Hostess played roulette with the bad table in the house...right next to the noisy service table. The attitude was "you are lucky to... More

Everyone talks about their dinner at this well located, well heeled mainstay hot spot. We had a nice time, including a long chat with the owner and seeing friends from home, but the food selection was limited and the taste only fair. A couple of dishes were just bad. One and done.

A friend recommended that we must go to Antica Pesa while in Rome-and it did not disappoint! I have had lamb chops all over the world and the ones I had here may have been the best that I ever had! The wine list is unbelievable and actually somewhat reasonable-and it is something like a three inch thick book. Luckily... More

It takes a lot to get into the Michelin guide, and this restaurant makes it look easy. The food is fantastic, as is all freshly cooked Italian food. But the most interesting part of this restaurant, which is not the numerous pictures of the famous celebs, was the wine cellar. You get a sneak peek to see what's downstairs through... More

Great service. Excellent food. Wide array of choices. Largest wine list, Size of folio Bible. It is very expensive even by Rome standardsb But you get what you pay for. About 100 € per person Recommend booking well in advance. Unless very familiar with tavestere take a cab. I had lamb chops. Nicely prepared and ample serving.

We had high expectations but the verdict is below average. We appreciate that the shouting is part of the atmosphere however there is also a limit as to when this becomes unacceptable. The place is overrated and lives off the fame it gets by celebrities going there. We were told it would take 5 mins to have our table ready... More

From the Spumante start, to the pear dessert finish, everything was perfect for our arrival in Rome celebration! Lamb chop main course was to die for and melted in your mouth. Amazing wine 'bible." Nothing negative to say. We loved it.

This is the sort of place I would normally avoid given it's "celebrity" status which is not normally a good sign. However friends had been here a month before and recommended it. We were led to our outdoor table which was stunning. The service was prompt however it all felt very robtic and cold . Our entree's arrived and they... More
