Stylish quirky restaurant

This is a lovely, quirky and stylish restaurant. The food is inventive and well executed, the decor tasteful and modern, the atmosphere both intimate and quite open and airy, and the staff very friendly. It's not the cheapest place in town, but I think the food justifies the prices, and I believe... read more

My 91 year old stepfather used to eat Sunday brunch here when he wintered in Rome over several years. I took a chance to follow up his recommendation even though it had been 5 years. We had a superb buffet lunch for 28 euro/each. Water, wine, choice of dessert to die for, coffee and lunch buffet all included. Lots of... More

I pre-booked this restaurant prior to our visit to Rome during the Easter period. I'd researched a lot of restaurants in Rome and Babette was one of those I was most looking forward to visiting; I wasn't disappointed. It's located a short distance away from Piazza del Poppolo, tucked away down a smart side street. It's interior is styled in... More

We went to this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and it didn't disappoint. Lovely high ceilinged room and excellent relaxed atmosphere. Pasta courses were superb as was one of the mains; one of the mains was fine but just not quite as good as the other dishes we had. Wine list very reasonably priced (we had a really... More

We walked past Babette and decided to give it a try even tho we weren't in the mood (or dressed) for a four $ restaurant. Nor did we have a reservation. We found the prices very reasonable for the quality of the food. Entries were 20-30€, wines from 18€ and up. My husband Dave said its the best Osso bucco... More

Went there on a Wednesday night with some friends, colleagues, and spent an excellent evening. The restaurant is located in the heart of the city but a bit outside the tourist main spots ..... definitely a good sign. Warm welcome in a nice bristrot type restaurant. The service is good and attentive. The food is very good, most of the... More

After a week of most restaurants in Rome offering much of the same, it was a great pleasure to have a creative and eclcectic menu to chose from, and enjoy. The rabbit was delicate and flavorful, the Stracchino salad was refreshing and tje deserts of pistachio gelato and Tiramisu were both the best ever, anywhere. Truly worth going just fo.... More

We booked this restaurant as a first night convenience because it was located in our apartment block. What a find! Everything about it was superb. Excellent food, great staff and fun. The best restaurant encountered in our short 4 day visit to Rome and we returned on our last night and the enjoyment process was repeated. Well done Babette we... More

We had dinner at Babette following a recommendation by our hotel which was very close by. It is a charming restaurant full of character and we received a very warm welcome. It had a good menu and we were served a amuse bouche before our first course arrived. The artichoke “carbonara” with crispy bacon was particularly good. There were a... More

Wife and I went for a meal here on a Friday evening while we were on a short break in Rome. Very good wine list and fantastic menu. Wine was delivered to the table very quickly by a very pleasant waitress who had very good English. We were given a taster appetiser prior to our own arriving which was perfectly... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
