Great little restaurant for a good night out

This is a hidden gem not far from Piazza Popolosi. Hidden, in that even our cabby had trouble finding it! But it was worthwhile! We had a very full (more than we could eat) meal with all courses being excellent. It is not inexpensive, but is in line with other restarants of this quality. The... read more

This is a lovely restaurant with amazing decor and well worth a visit but be prepared that it is not cheap! Sea bass was 28 euro but excellent. Other dishes were similar prices so for 8 people, including 4 kids under 12, and only water to drink, we paid 200 euro. Everything we had was excellent though and my husband... More

About 50 meters from our hotel we were delighted to find this off street gem based on recommendation from our hotel. The tomato mozzarella starter left me speechless it was so creamy and fresh. Our pasta was superb and the tiramisu was delectable. Great ambience and even better service. They let us taste the wine ahead and even caught a... More

Lunch is served buffet style. You get one trip to the buffet for one price. The food is delicious and various from day to day. We visited twice in one week. Our first trip we had no reservation and had to wait in the back courtyard for about 30 minutes. Food and service are definitely worth the wait.

The ambiance, the food, the service everything was great! We always go back when in Rome. The combination of ingredients is ingenious and not typical of other restaurants.Try the pasta with zuccini and pistaccio, it is really delicious!

I came to Babette for a large dinner with around 20 colleagues. Overall, the place looks great, nicely decorated and well maintained. Too bad there is no cell reception or WiFi. Food is OK, but not great. I had good salmon ravioli, but it was way over-sauced. The Milanese Schnitzel was good, but had too much butter/oil in it, and... More

this restaurant was recommended by someone we met on the train to Rome. In 4 trips to Rome this is probably the best place I've found to eat. Real family atmosphere, fantastic genuine food and wine and magnificent service. Can't speak to highly of it. Try it and see, oh yeah real value for money.

My two sisters and I had dinner at Babette's in October, 2014. Everything was great from the warm welcome when we entered, the nice table we were given even though we didn't have reservations and wonderful service. We all ordered different entrees and were pleased that they were all delicious - perfectly prepared. We then ordered a few desserts, one... More

The Via Margutta is a lovely street narrow not far from the Spanish Steps filled with small antique stores and high-end boutiques. Babette offers a prix fixe lunch from Tuesday to Friday which includes a nice range of dishes. I had a simple dish: buffalo mozzarella, local ham, and chopped tomatoes. Nothing special in itself, but with ingredients as fresh... More

Went on a weekend trip to Rome and ended up eating dinner at Babette the evening we arrived based on recommendations from TripAdvisor. We were most plecently surprised by the friendliness and good service from the staff and the food was also very good. During the following two days we ate lunch and dinner at other restaurants, although we got... More

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
