A good deal in the heart of Rome

It's not always easy to find a good place to eat in Rome, but Babette is one of them. Everything is perfect: friendly staff, nice decor, clean bathrooms and ofcourse tasty food. The lunch formula (buffet) in the weekend is perfect. You pay 28 euro for the delicious 'all-you-can-eat' buffet with a... read more

Whether you sit inside in the warm and comfy dining room, or outside in the quiet and lovely terrace, you'll enjoy your meal. Food is always good, interesting, and served with attention. This is a nice tucked away place in the corner, but just a couple minutes walk to the very busy Via del Babuino and the Piazza del Popolo.

Our hotel recommended Babette as a good place to eat. Saturday and Sunday lunch is a set price buffet that includes a glass of wine, water and coffee (€28 per head). The food was a mix of pastas, risotto, soup and hot meats, vegetables and salad - serve yourself style from a central table. Desert was from their menu. The... More

Recommended by Lonely Planet, we arrived for a late lunch after a lovely stroll in the Villa Borghese gardens. It's best to book as this lovely restaurant was full when we arrived. We were lucky there was a no show and so landed a table. The format in Sunday is an all inclusive buffet - choose and enjoy various antipasti,... More

This is an excellent bistro, organic, fresh and very tasty. Certainly well worth the visit, lovely environment, friendly helpful staff who will go that extra mile for the service. Little privy, around £30 English pounds for 2 courses, sides and glass of wine.

I sat in the open air garden are in back, which is lovely. Tables are well spaced from one another. I had very attentive service and a delicious meal! Modern Italian (as opposed to traditional Roman). Fried sardines with breadcrumbs and pistachios, Calamarata with tomatoes and olives, then rabbit with a fennel sauce and something more like a relleno than... More

My son and I ate at this restaurant at the recommendation of our hotel. It was a good location near Spanish Steps. It had a. Ice atmosphere and the food was tasty. My son had a steak which was a large portion. I had a fishe which was good. The staff was very nice and accomodating. Be sure to book... More

Very cosy, great food, nice wine selection by the glass, reasonably priced, no rush and extremely friendly staff. I mean, what else would you be looking for?

We ate at several restaurants on our recent trip to Rome. The only one we visited twice was Babette. The decor is somewhat quirky but at least it's different. The food and service are great, try the spiced pumpkin soup.

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
