We had one of the best meals of our trip to Rome at Babette. I was there with my family (husband and 2 teenage boys) and we had a great evening. I would describe the food as sophisticated without being pretentious. Highlights were the pumpkin soup, the gnocchi, the home made pasta with gorgonzola the lamb. I should also mention... More

We were staying at a hotel nearby on our first night in Rome, and were a bit over-dressed for the Burger King nearby so thought we'd look a bit further. Saw the Babette restaurant up a side street and had a look at the menu and clientele and decided it was definitely worth a try. Even though it was only... More

The food was incredible! A perfect finish to our vacation in Rome. The only two things to improve: 1. Opening hours are very strict. 2. The atmosphere in the restuarant is a bit uninviting. Except for that- we enjoyed the restaurant very much!

Returned to Babette during our recent week in Rome. We found this restaurant several years ago and have always enjoyed it. This visit reaffirmed this. Food was wonderful-we started with an appetizer of timbale of anchovies and cheese. Very tasty. My husband had their veal chop milanese for entree which is delicious. I enjoyed a ragu. Wrapped dinner up with... More

Our first night in Rome, we had dinner on the patio. My husband ordered the catch of the day, which he noted was cooked perfectly and really delicious. I had the ossobuco which was also very good. We wanted a small salad and asked if the salads were small (and told yes), but the salads delivered could easily have served... More

Might sound funny, but I was just sorting out our travel pics and found these photos from Babette. We have visited Rome in March, 2015 on my birthday the 5th. The day didnt start well, as it was raining and being tourists, we were not sure what is the best way to spend our time... We went to a spa... More

A wonderful lunch, led to a great dinner on our last night in Rome. Inventive food of excellent quality, with perfect wine selection. Wait staff was flawless and the art perfectly complimented the food....it will be a must visit on our return to Rome, where we have many enjoyable choices.

I very much recommend this restaurant which is one of the best I've tried in Rome. The wine list is excellent and affordable. The food is very tasty and also affordable. The neighborhood is great (close to the plazza di popolo and to the Hotel de Russie) and, last but not least, the level of service is amazing. Don't hesitate... More

Via Margutta is one of our favorite streets in Rome, and in all our trips, I do not understand how we overlooked such a great restaurant. It was so good, that we ate there twice. The food is a mix of italian and french bistro fare. We were tired of pasta and ordered steaks (tender and juicy), salads, and hearty... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
