We booked this restaurant as a first night convenience because it was located in our apartment block. What a find! Everything about it was superb. Excellent food, great staff and fun. The best restaurant encountered in our short 4 day visit to Rome and we returned on our last night and the enjoyment process was repeated. Well done Babette we... More

We had dinner at Babette following a recommendation by our hotel which was very close by. It is a charming restaurant full of character and we received a very warm welcome. It had a good menu and we were served a amuse bouche before our first course arrived. The artichoke “carbonara” with crispy bacon was particularly good. There were a... More

Wife and I went for a meal here on a Friday evening while we were on a short break in Rome. Very good wine list and fantastic menu. Wine was delivered to the table very quickly by a very pleasant waitress who had very good English. We were given a taster appetiser prior to our own arriving which was perfectly... More

My partner and I chose this restaurant last night based on trip advisor reviews, we had a truly delicious meal Starting with lovely basket of bread with olive oil and balsamic followed by an extremely tasty dinner followed by superb puddings Interior shabby chick, loved the cutlery! waiters and waitress were extremely polite It's a must stop when visiting Rome... This is a hidden gem not far from Piazza Popolosi. Hidden, in that even our cabby had trouble finding it! But it was worthwhile! We had a very full (more than we could eat) meal with all courses being excellent. It is not inexpensive, but is in line with other restarants of this quality. The service was first class and... This is a lovely restaurant with amazing decor and well worth a visit but be prepared that it is not cheap! Sea bass was 28 euro but excellent. Other dishes were similar prices so for 8 people, including 4 kids under 12, and only water to drink, we paid 200 euro. Everything we had was excellent though and my husband... More

About 50 meters from our hotel we were delighted to find this off street gem based on recommendation from our hotel. The tomato mozzarella starter left me speechless it was so creamy and fresh. Our pasta was superb and the tiramisu was delectable. Great ambience and even better service. They let us taste the wine ahead and even caught a... More

Lunch is served buffet style. You get one trip to the buffet for one price. The food is delicious and various from day to day. We visited twice in one week. Our first trip we had no reservation and had to wait in the back courtyard for about 30 minutes. Food and service are definitely worth the wait.

The ambiance, the food, the service everything was great! We always go back when in Rome. The combination of ingredients is ingenious and not typical of other restaurants.Try the pasta with zuccini and pistaccio, it is really delicious!

I came to Babette for a large dinner with around 20 colleagues. Overall, the place looks great, nicely decorated and well maintained. Too bad there is no cell reception or WiFi. Food is OK, but not great. I had good salmon ravioli, but it was way over-sauced. The Milanese Schnitzel was good, but had too much butter/oil in it, and... More

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
