One of the best trattorias in Trastevere!!

Very good food and service (not very quick and pleasant, but still acceptable). Compared to other touristic places in Trastevere this is a must go: avoid all other touristic traps! This is very good and value for money!!

We dined here on a Wednesday night and were astonished to see but one waiter for the entire restaurant. Perhaps some waitstaff called in sick at the last moment, but in all our decades of travel we have never seen such an unrealistic ratio of server-to-customers. The poor young guy kept his cool but what a daunting task. It proved... More

We went there with my boyfriend who is Sicilian chef ;) on Saturday evening based on friend's recommendation and we should thank him a lot for that! The carbonara was fantastic as well as meat and wine. The owner who also serving is easy going and relaxed makes the atmosphere quite homie. Really recommend for dinner.

Had dinner 4 years ago and feasted on few hours worth of "mama" made food from the appetizer of artichokes, zucchini flowers, to the pasta bolognese prime to secondi of lamb with garlic and rosemary to delicate cream desert and of course ample wine. Took my son there in this trip...again another great experience of home cooked unpretentious Roman style... More

The owner is John Cleese's twin brother. He was training his grandson Leonardo who did a great job! ;-) We had a fantastic lunch, got huge portions of Carbonara. Needless to say that the pasta is home made. Paired with a nice wine and we were extremely happy!

Only one waiter working in this busy restaurant... I felt for him. There was a large group and he was run off his feet. So much so that he would forget to follow up with the many requests he got for wine, water, bread, menus, etc... Two hours for a two course meal, it took. Not great after just arriving... More

We had made a reservation for this recommended restaurant and were not disappointed. the restaurant was lively, with many Italian families and groups eating there. Food was plentiful and typically Roman specialties were served. I had the pasta with Zucchini blossoms. It was delicious. We were invited to view and chose from the numerous and tempting desserts. We shared the... More

We had there a special dish and ravioli with artichoke cream, both were the best dishes of the trip. The waiters were very friendly.

Amazing food at reasonable prices. However don't think you can just walk in, you need to book a table (even on the day) for the evening. Well worth it.

The spaghetti alla carbonara, which practically everyone in the restaurant seemed to be ordering, was the best I've had—rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of pepper. The service was also attentive and friendly.

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
