Delicious Food and Great Service!

For our first Italian restaurant in our first night in Rome, there were definitely high expectations in the air! Romantica did not disappoint one bit. We were staying next door to this restaurant and decided to give it a try as it was so convenient for us. Also, we booked via Trip Advisor and got a discount by doing so. Who does not like a bargain?!? We were pleasantly surprised by a complimentary glass of prosecco on arrival. The decoration is a bit dated (maybe... More

I would say the food is average for Rome. Its not the best but it certainly isn't the worst. Presentation of the food is amazing and probably is the best I had. Bruschetta was delicious tomatoes were very fresh.Pasta was nice but was very rich and got sickly after about half. The wine here was lovely too. Service was ok... More

This little gem will give you the perfect experience of Italy. The food is to perfection and the restaurant is not difficult to get to. The staff at the restaurant are really good and make sure you are happy except one bar staff. The lady behind the bar is more interested in cleaning already clean glasses, than serving anyone. Me... No complaints at all about the food but the service was very poor. We waited 50 minutes between starter and main in a restaurant that had about 20% of tables occupied. Decent ambience and decor but needs a big step up in service quality.

Stumbled upon this place while walking and glad we did. Great service, great menu and decent prices. They make a great Penne Alla Vodka! YUM! I would highly suggest this place while in Roma!

Myself and my partner visited this restaurant twice on our holiday after thoroughly enjoying it the first time. We came across the restaurant while exploring the area and decided to give it a try. Our first visit was great, very romantic setting, nicely decorated restaurant and a warm welcome. We where given a complimentary glass of champagne the first time... More

Traditional italian restaurant with good variety, with good service and a large number of tables. The portion sizes were adequate, flavour of the food was very appealing. Could includ water and bread with the meal but typical for Rome to be charged extra for both. Some well priced wines that will not break the bank. Order any of the "Romantica"... More

Very nice place and service, average price, not so expensive, a lot of wines to choose, and nice option for food and snack.

We visited this restaurant two times during our travel. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, food was very delicious (the lobster spaghetti is amazing and oysters are fresh and tasty) and very reasonable priced. The service we had there was just fantastic, servers were so friendly and caring. Recommend!

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
