I was introduced to this charming, well established little restaurant a few years ago and I can truly recommend OSTERIA del PEGNO for its excellence.. And both Sig. Massimo and Sig. Massimo have created such an atmosphere of tranquility, charm and expertise. I can find no faults. And, I only dine there while in Rome, except on Wednesdays when the... More

Found on a little side street after visiting Piazza Navona! So glad we found it. A few tables available outside but we sat indoors which was lovely and cool on a hot day. Lovely authentic little restaurant with a nice friendly atmosphere. Our waiter was lovely, very helpful. Recommended an Italian beer which was great! We all had pasta which... More

Impromptu visit on out penultimate night in Rome. Go early or book to avoid the disappointment of not eating here; the pasta was fantastic and the added extras - good service, reasonable prices, drinks and petit fours - made it one of our most enjoyable meals in the city.

Some of the best cuisine in Rome. The carbonara, and the sea bass were excellent. Nice house white wine.

Finding this place can be a challenge, but it's one well worth seeking out. It serves traditional regional cuisine and homemade Roman dishes. Set down a small cobbles street behind the Piazza Navona is this charming and relaxed little Osteria. Seasonal specials feature produce bought at the market that morning and change according to whats available. Service is friendly and... More

We had dinner at Osteria Del Pegno. Very small place. Central location. Excellent food at good prices. Try the black rice and other delicacies. Excellent service. Good house wine. I recommend it.

In every sense. Delicious food, very nice staff and very reasonable prices. Exceptional toilets as for Italy-really. If they had outdoor sitting it would be perfect!!!

Our first evening was so nice that we went a second time, during our stay in Rome. Friendly welcome, fantastic winelist, at reasonable prices. Authentic food and familial atmosphere. Highly recommended. Take a reservation before you go!

They charged my Mastercard in Canadian dollars at a bad exchange rate, and added a 3 Euro fee as a markup on the exchange rate. I only noticed it later in faint print on my receipt: "I accept that I have been offered a choice of currencies payment" – not true, there was no choice offered – "and that this... More

Originally found this on tripadvisor as it was just around the corner from where we were staying. Dropped in for lunch and was not at all disappointed. The atmosphere is wonderful, beautiful painted walls, music and a location just away from all the tourist locations. Had read about he Carbonara ( and I try it everywhere we go in Italy)... More
