Originally found this on tripadvisor as it was just around the corner from where we were staying. Dropped in for lunch and was not at all disappointed. The atmosphere is wonderful, beautiful painted walls, music and a location just away from all the tourist locations. Had read about he Carbonara ( and I try it everywhere we go in Italy)... More

Found this place by accident when walking between the river and Piazza Navona. We hadn't booked so were lucky to get in. The food was lovely, with some complimentary dishes. The service was good too.

When walking down Via Coronari towards Castel Sant' Angelo, turn left in a narrow street Vicolo di Montevecchio. You'll find Osteria del Pegno, great little restaurant where you can taste good italian food in a picturesque setting. Neighborhood is full of tourist trap restaurants so this is a true find. Try seafood spaghetti with a house white wine - excellent!... More

We stumbled on this restaurant by accident and we were very glad that we did. The food was reasonably priced and beautiful. The service was excellent and the atmosphere wonderful. Located on a quiet lane, just off a busier tourist strip, the restaurant had a combination of both locals and tourists dining at it while we where there. A charming... More

We were looking for a place for dinner a little off the main hubbub of Piazza Navonna. Based on other Trip Advisor reviews, we decided on Osteria del Pegno. It took some doing to find, as the usually accurate Google maps didn't locate this place correctly, but after several false starts, and finally asking directions, we did find it. Without... More

Once again this hidden gem did not disappoint us. We ate here three times over the last two weeks. Attentive service, good house wine and fabulous food. It is absolutely essential to reserve in advance

Friends from Rome took us to this very nice restaurant. The food was lovely and felt real Italian - not a tourist trap. You have to reserve a table here - the place was fully booked the night we went there for dinner. Lovely homemade breads to start with and very fresh food.

If you plan on eating here, make reservations! This is in the Italian tradition that you book your table...it is yours for as many hours as you want it! Consequently, the tables do not turn over as they would in other countries. Two of our family members said it was the best meal they have ever had. Mine, not the... More
