We were recommended to this restaurant by the owner of our rental. it was delicious.appetizer of marinated salmon, first course of seafood fettucine, second course of veal and meatballs. Topped off with tiaramisu. Very good. We had a disappointing dining experience the night prior and this made up for it. The server was very patient with us as we questioned... More

This is a BEAUTIFUL restaurant. We were so happy to discover it through TripAdvisor. Charming paintings and dim lights inside. Small and tucked away from the busy touristy streets down the block. Incredible service by people that cared about our dining experience. We called and made a reservation for the same evening. We were there in a company of 4... More

You will go to Osteria del Pegno for the delicious meal you will enjoy, not because it is easy to find. It's up a side street in a residential neighborhood, but worth the effort. When we arrived, the owner quickly appeared and immediately took us to a private indoor table our hotel had reserved for us. We enjoyed watching as... More

Excellent food, very Italian but not the usual, "you can get it at any Italian restaurant" sense. A rather small place where, in spite of being close to landmark places, one should not expext the boring touristic menu. Excellent fish. Try the seabass, covered with transparently thin slices of potato.

We recently visited Osteria del Pegno during a weekend visit to Rome. After a long day walking around all the sites, we fancied somewhere quintessentially Italian to finish off our day. This place delivered everything we wanted. Located in a very Italian looking backstreet, it is easily missed. Look for the brown sign you can see on the website. On... More

We visit Rome for the last 10 years and this is the first (and definitely not the last...) time we ate in this 'ristorante'. The food is excellent, the price reasonable and the service very good. There are plenty of restaurants in Rome but this is definitely one of the better!!!

A great lunchtime find not too far from the Vatican, but set back from the busy tourist paths. The pasta was delicious and the service exceptional. The waiter seemed to know just what we needed as he brought a bucket of ice to keep our water cool on the hot day.

We went to this restaurant based on good Trip Advisor reviews and because it was close to our apartment. My wife had the rabbit and I had Scallopine. Both were OK but didn't rise above the ordinary The house red wine was fairly average as well. Service was good and the venue nice. The place was nearly full so perhaps... More

Very authentic experience. The ambience and setting is lovely and food and wine selection superb. One of the best restaurants we found in Roma.

I was introduced to this charming, well established little restaurant a few years ago and I can truly recommend OSTERIA del PEGNO for its excellence.. And both Sig. Massimo and Sig. Massimo have created such an atmosphere of tranquility, charm and expertise. I can find no faults. And, I only dine there while in Rome, except on Wednesdays when the... More
