Welcome surprise

When my wife suggested we dine at Angelino ai Fori I had my doubts. It was a little to close to major attractions for my liking and screamed tourist trap, how wrong I was. The food was fantastic and the desert of melon sorbet in vintage port was the best I sampled in Rome. If your passing it's... read more

Location of restaurant is great, one of the best in Rome surely. really nice outdoor seating surrounded by plants and an ivy roof that provides shade. Service was incredibly slow (took 1 hour for starters to arrive, ordered bruchetta each) and had to remind the waiter, so i guess they forgot about us. Eventually main courses came, except one of... An oasis of delicious Italian food at the end of a long morning of being a tourist. The service was great and the food was better. All topped off with a singing waiter!

We stumbled upon this quaint restaurant on our way to tour the Colosseum--as it sounds like most reviewers do. Being our first time to Rome, I felt that sitting under the century old trees on the patio, in the shadow of the Colosseum was a perfect way to spend a lazy lunch. Service in Rome was always a little different... More

This is relaxing outdoor casual restaurant with reasonable prices. Pizza was decent, Aperol Spritzer and Vino Bianco of the week were refreshing and reasonable. Sit under the canopy and vines and look around at the ruins and domes that surround you. For a restaurant so close to the Colluseum I was expecting high prices and was pleasently surprised by this... Rome is hot. And crowded. We were footsore and parched when we stumbled onto this café/ pizzeria across the street from the Roman Forum. It was a cool relief to sit under the grape trellises and have a cold Italian beer and a couple of pizzas. Their pizzas were first rate and sizeable. One is perfect for a hungry eater,... More

We stopped here for lunch after a hot and busy morning touring the Coloseum, Forum, and Palatine. The chance to sit outside under the shade of their leafy awning was the draw for us, but the wonderful food and our funny singing waiter made for an especially great experience. Despite being very busy our service was very good, never rushed,... More

The pizza was very good--the rest of the dishes were just ok. Beautiful setting. Dining under the vines outside and people watching was fun.

Angelino ai Fori dal 1947 is a sweet spot very near the Colosseum. It has a really very good outdoor eating area. Besides the look and feel, this restaurant has a great selection on their menu. Several wonderful options to pick from. The wines that was picked for me was absolutely excellent. The quality of the food that was served... More
