We visited around 9:30 in the evening for our 10th Anniversary. The place only had 2 other guests who left shortly after we arrived which was interesting considering that other restaurants in the neighborhood were crowded. We decided to order the chefs tasting menu since it was a special occasion for us, and being in Rome for the first time... More

We were wandering around the neighborhood and saw this cute place. The homemade pasta was amazing. I had the fusilli and my wife had the orichette. The fusilli was the best pasta I've had so far on our trip. We followed it up with the Anastasia steak, covered in black truffle sauce and veal stuffed with ham and cheese. Both... More

The majority of the restaurants in this area serve cheap simple food for the tourists. This was different,-the food was excellent and I thought the service very professional.

For any non believers new came back again and enjoyed the whole experience yet again. This is one of the best restaurants in Rome however this is my opinion and respect others with different views although misguided. It is not the cheapest but if you want to eat Cafe food this is not the place. However there are some wonderful... More

This a great restaurant if you want to enjoy an excellent meal outside the tourist attractions areas . The Lucia Family has been offering excellent food and wine for more than 40 years. Monte Caruso, combining Roman and Lucanian dishes to perfection with great wines , is a hidden gem in Rome !!

Dinner for 4 of us was 110 euros no wine or desserts. Service was good and there were some different things on the menu which when sampled were good. Would I go back ? Yes, but it has not made me think I can't wait to eat there again.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
