Best pasta ever

I went to Taverna Angelica for my first meal out in Rome, and I was not disappointed! I started with a vegetable tart and Prosecco, and then had a cheese ravioli that was hands down the best pasta I've ever had. I ate pretty much all of the bread they brought me, and ordered cannoli for dessert... read more

2 travel guides featured the restaurant. A local said it was ok. I tried it when Ist arrived. The service is exceptional. The food is just ok. There are way better and cheaper restaurants in Rome.

We really enjoyed our Sunday lunch at Taverna Angelica. From the friendly greeting to the fabulous food it was a great experience. We received useful recommendations for all courses and the wines. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Rome, as it offers a welcome change from the incredible number of pasta and pizza establishments.

My wife and I went to Taverna Angelica as part of a small group and were very impressed with the staff. The food was more eclectic in my mind, than standard Italian fare. What impressed me was that the selections picked for us included seafood, which I don't normally like and I enjoyed it quite a bit. My only negative... More

After three nights in Rome, we've been to this restaurant twice already. Some of the best food I've ever had, not just in Italy but anywhere. If you're staying nearby, you'd be crazy not to go. If your hotel is further away... It's worth the taxi fare. Wonderful food, beautifully presented. I want to adopt their chef and take him/her... More

We visited for our 30th wedding anniversary having read the reviews on trip advisor and we're not disappointed. My husband had octopus to start which was delicious. Overall the quality of the food and wine was the best we have experienced so far in Rome and would certainly recommend this restaurant. The service was exceptional.

I went to Taverna Angelica because some travels book suggested this amazing restaurant and I have to tell that i wasn't disappointed at all. Best food i ever had in my life and during my trip in Europe. Food was excellent, service was great and the hosting was like to be at home. Highly suggested

We accidentally visited Taverna Angelica and were very happy to spend two evenings there. Most of all we liked the idea of the restaurant to combine the variety of Italian cuisine in one menu… You will find there dishes from different regions of Italy and for sure you will admire the beauty and taste of them. We wish this nice... More

Fresh, modern Italian food, served in a sleek, quiet setting. Chose Angelica because of the Fodor's recommendation and was not disappointed. Particularly enjoyed the leek and pancetta spaghetti. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. In an area full of tourist traps, Angelica is a welcome relief.

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
