Simply wonderful

I went to Taverna Angelica because some travels book suggested this amazing restaurant and I have to tell that i wasn't disappointed at all. Best food i ever had in my life and during my trip in Europe. Food was excellent, service was great and the hosting was like to be at home. Highly suggested

We accidentally visited Taverna Angelica and were very happy to spend two evenings there. Most of all we liked the idea of the restaurant to combine the variety of Italian cuisine in one menu… You will find there dishes from different regions of Italy and for sure you will admire the beauty and taste of them. We wish this nice... More

Fresh, modern Italian food, served in a sleek, quiet setting. Chose Angelica because of the Fodor's recommendation and was not disappointed. Particularly enjoyed the leek and pancetta spaghetti. Service was attentive but unobtrusive. In an area full of tourist traps, Angelica is a welcome relief.

Our travel agent recommend Taverna Angelica while we were in Rome. We were greeted at the door by Mariella, one of the owners. We had a fantastic meal. For a party of 15 people all the food came out timely and was the best meal of our 2 week trip through Italy!! We had stuffed fried zucchini flowers, pistachio crusted tuma,... More

Just happened in one evening by chance. A nice decor, pleasant staff, and really good food. Not typical tourist fare but imaginative preparation and nice presentation.

One of the best meals we ate in Rome! Our group of seven tried a variety of appetizers and mains and we all loved what we had ordered. Prices were more than fair for quality of food and wine. Heartily recommend!

Usually when I read one-star reviews, I roll my eyes because the reviewer comes off as a total snob, but bear with me. I have your stomach and wallet in mind. (P.s. I left this same review on Yelp, but it seems trip advisor is more popular in Europe.) We had just arrived in Rome and had a heck of... More

Sir, we think you were really tired that night...and your tasting wasn't ready for the Italian food. Anyways we are sorry if you did not like our restaurant. Usually it looks like a very high dining experience, as our customers kept to say. We are writing in order to your review not because the food (every tasting is different, maybe... More

My wife and I had a fantastic meal Saturday, 8/30 at Taverna Angelica. Their pork filet with a pineapple sauce and red pepper flakes was out of this world as was my wife's chicken- something so seemingly basic reached another level. The pastas were exemplary, too, as was the service. Francesco was wonderful in his recommendations and explanations. And this restaurant... More

We were a party of four and found this restaurant by accident. By what a find! We ordered various meals between us, and all were winners. The outstanding food was accompanied by outstanding service. Our bottle of red wine was thoughtfully decanted and allowed to breathe for ten minutes, before being poured for us. The service was absolutely professional, attentive... More

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
