Yummy food, nice people!

This is a great place to get some authentic Indian food. I've tried a bunch of Indian places in Rome and have found this one to be my favorite. Their curries are great, and the waiter we always have knows that I love them extra spicy! He's very sweet! They also speak Hindi to me sometimes, which... read more

We moved to Rome from Canada. We are not strangers to Indian food and have had out share of great Indian food at home. We have been back to Mother India twice and plan to keep going back. The service is top notch- the servers and staff are great and have been incredibly friendly on each of our visits. The... More

The food is definitely good but I would rate it above average (3.5) not excellent. If you don't have other Indian options, worth a try. Huzayf

As I begin I wish to say we love Indian food and try to have it often in our own home and when out. This food was just very average. The service was good and the staff were very friendly but the food could have been better. The Naan was not cooked enough. We asked for some spice with the... More

Food was good but definitely not the best Indian we had in Rome. The chana dal was very good while the malai kofta was just about average. Staff was helpful and friendly. Portion of the dishes were decent as well.

We went to this restaurant located in the heart of the city for Lunch. Food was excellent, I had been longing for a proper Indian food as I had been relishing Italian food for few days when I was in Italy on a trip and found this place excellent as the food was typical Indian. Restaurant was neat and pretty... More

There's only so much pasta you can eat until you start to look for something new. Look no further! Mother India has great food, great service and best of all, there dinner hours are reasonable. It's often tricky to find a restaurant that opens before 7:00pm in Rome and this restaurant is great for families/early dinner.

Having lived in Rome for the last 18 months, we have been on a mission to find the best Indian restaurant. We have been through several, and written positive reviews about them, but some have lost their luster over time. Mother India has the best hours (open nonstop from lunch through late night), best prices, and has excellent food and... More

Being from New Jersey, US: we are accustomed to a different kind of experience at Indian restaurants. But Mother India surpassed the expectations. The food was great, Beer was amazing and the Pan Liquor which was on the house was peculiar. The owners (Pret Pal) is an amazing young entrepreneur. Good experience overall.

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
