Good Food, Good Servive

Had the Vindaloo, was far hotter than the ones iv had in England, still nice though, cool interior and cutlery made out of bronze! Food came out really quick and the portions could have been a bit bigger, but still worth a visit if you love Indian cuisine

I was lucky enough to be introduced to Maharajah my first trip to Rome in 2009. I now eat here every time I am in the city. The staff here is amazing and always ensure we leave satisfied. The food is incredible. I would recommend the swordfish tiki masala or the saag gosht. Honestly you cannot go wrong with anything... More

Being English, I love a curry and will search high and low to seek out a descent curry house. Staying on the Vatican side of Rome, it was a little walk to the metro to go to Monti. Was it worth it? Not in my opinion, I ordered an aubergine curry that resembled baby food when it was served. The... More

Being Vegetarian and that too allergic to cheese seems picky in Rome. Yet delighted myself with Roman cuisine but was craving for Indian food and this place saved my day. Delicious, sumptuous, nice and ethnic ambiance. the host were polite and courteous. If you in Rome and crave for Indian Veg, you know the place now.

Nice atmosphere, kind and efficient staff, tasty food: maybe not as tasty as in some Indian restaurant in London but still of quite good quality, with a varied menu. The restaurant was rather crowded, we warned the waiter about our hurry and our food was quickly on the table. We enjoyed the early dinner at Maharajah before the movie and... More

We were happy to find an Indian restaurant close to the colosseum. The staff very friendly and helpful. We had to make a reservation as its quite a popular restaurant. The food was average, but they have a good variety of dishes. The presentation is good and they have set menu as well apart from the normal menu. We enjoyed... More

Always wanted to go to a proper Indian restaurant and decided to go to the Maharajah! It's a beautiful place and the people there are very welcoming! My wife is a vegetarian and they got PLENTY of options for her. We absolutely loved the food and the conversation with the maitre and waiters! Definitely a must go!

We really like Indian food so we tried this restaurant . The service is too slow and not efficient, we were waiting for 45 minutes for the food. The food was average, the portions were small, the nan bread was boring and the food is highly priced. They even charge for the map and the plates on the table. We... More

By far the best Indian food we had in Italy. Food was very authentic and had the right mix of spices. Staff was extremely warm and friendly. Service was excellent.

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
