A good Indian restaurant in Rome

It's not easy to find a good Indian restaurant in Italy, but this one is. We had a good madras curry, with two different kinds of rice and really enjoyed it. The service is also very good and it's not pricey, so all in all I would say it has a very good cost/quality ratio.

Was looking for another restaurant in the area, but when we found it, it didn't have any vegetarian food, than we went to maharajah, no regrets, really good food, lot of vegetarian options and great service.

Had picked another restaurant in the area from reviews but unfortunately couldn't find it, hadn't planned on a curry whilst in Rome but it looked and smelled nice when walking past. After getting seated we were brought poppadoms with dips, we ordered some cobra beers, vegetable platter to share as an appetiser, for mains we got a chicken tikka masala... More

Apart from the excellent service there is very little to recommend. It is unclear if the glass of prosecco offered upon entry is complimentary or not. The poppadoms, (usually offered by the restaurant in Indian restaurants) end up on the bill. There are also pricey set menu pamphlets left on the table and you must ask for the main a... More

After visiting 3 countries on our 38 day honeymoon- this was disappointing :-( We heard from people we met in Cinque Terres there were many Indian restaurants in Rome. This was possibly some of the worst Indian food I have had and I am from India. Also- they were giving free drinks to the European customers and never offered any... More

This is the worst Indian food I have ever had in Europe. After checking all the reviews, we visited this restaurant for lunch. The staff is very polite but the food sucks. We ordered a Malai kofta curry which tasted like milk (even after telling them we want Indian spicy). We have visited a number of Indian restaurants in Europe (a... More

I don't know if it's because I'm Indian but after being a week in Italy, we needed a break from the Italian food and went with Indian food. We were a little skeptical of the quality of the food as we were expecting it to be mostly a fusion based cuisine. But we were happily mistaken - the food was... More

After 8 days in Italy eating pizza, pasta and pannini as vegetarians, we wanted our indian fix so went to Maharajah after touring colosseum. There were 3 other indian places around but we liked the menu here and it seemed like a nice place based on yelp reviews. This place is big (doesn't look like it from the outside) ..... More

This is a great indian restaurant in Rome. We have been here a couple of times since we found this place to spice up our routine of pizza and pasta while touring. Service is amazing - they greet everyone with sparkling wine and complimentary popadum. The food is good and the service is excellent. I'd recommend this place over other... More
