We were recommended this restaurant by the hotel. It was excellent. It's not posh - but typical roman. The food was fabulous - tasty, well presented, and plentiful. The wine menu is like a bible of vino. A definite place to visit again.

This place came highly recommended and it is well worth wandering around to find it. It is hidden off of the beaten trail somewhere near the Spanish Steps and the high-end shopping areas. Based on the recommendations of the staff I ordered the roast lamb and had what is easily the best roast lamb I have ever eaten. Even the... More

Great traditional Roman cuisine with fantastic appetizers, the first dream (of course Amatriciana and cheese (Cacio) and pepper), artichokes cooked in accordance with the most ancient traditions, prices in line with expectations, which ... more do you want in the heart of the most beautiful city in the world? I will definitely return!

Busy with locals for a good reason. The food was excellent and more than ample with a unique Italian menu. Many items not found in most restaurants.

I was visiting Rome with my daughter in Feb 20012 and we looked for a place in the Via del Corso area. This turned out to be a good choice. It's small and the clientele seems to be nearly all Italian, unusual in the center of Rome. We had homemade pasta with artichokes, fettucine with chicken innards, lamb sweetbreads on... More

We selected this venue from the slow food guide (Osterie & Locande d'Italia) and it was a real winner. The menu is packed with exotic (to me) items as well as the usual Roman classics like saltimbocca and artichokes alla giudia. I started with rigatoni alla pajata (young lamb intestines), but then lost my nerve and failed to order the... More

We chose this place on the back of reviews on Trip Advisor and it was a good choice. It was our first meal of the holiday so we went for traditional Roman dishes and it made for an enjoyable meal though the Jewish dessert was a bit stodgy and I could have done without it. The wife enjoyed her saltimbocca... More

We came to Roma to see and experience the cultures historic sights, their food and wine. This restaurant gave us a beautiful experience, the staff had no problem to serve a group of 16 people. In the Netherlands we work in a Italian restaurant our self and were absolutely impressed and inspired by Matricianella.

The ambiance is truly Italian and of course roman.A few tables outside on the little street and many inside in the 3 rooms.Rustic decoration of a real trattoria. Very kind service everyone is quick and helpful which makes your stay more pleasant. The menu is typical and our "fritto misto alla romana" read fried artichokes ,calves brain in the lightest... Having read some slightly damning reviews of this restaurant citing surly service etc, I was a little doubtful. However, I booked it for our first night in Rome and I am glad I did. The service was friendly and helpful, our table in the window was perfect and the food was great. My saltimbocca real did jump in the mouth.I... More
