We came here for dinner one evening after getting a recommendation from our hotel. The prosciutto and mozzarella appetizer was very good quality, and we enjoyed the pasta dishes we ordered. I thought they were a little uneven applying salt since some dishes seemed overly salted and others lacking. I would probably go back if I wanted something convenient in... More

The food was average. The service was not poor. Had to ask for the bill multiple times. Was recommended by the hotels nearby- not good at all

A fab restaurant, great food, great service and brilliant value. A lovely, traditional little Italian restaurant. Was situated just down the road from our hotel and each time we walked by it was always busy. We were served our food very fast and it was delicious. The house wine was good and very reasonably priced.

This restaurant was very close to our hotel and it offered home made pasta. The noquis and pasta were quite good. Very good prices too.

This restaurant came recommended by a hotel nearby as it was close for guests. We checked the menu and the prices were good. It was clean and busy. The service was quick and not fussy. Unfortunately there was miscommunication (due to quickness of ordering ) and I ended up with just a meat on my dish. Lesson learned. Lasagna was... More

We dined at at Ristorante Regina on recommendation from our accommodation host. This is a busy, local eatery where we were well looked after from arrival and found the service, food, wine and price to be very good. So good in fact, we went back the next night and were treated in the same manner except we were welcomed and... More

We had a rainy day and the hotel recommend this restaurant . It was very nice . We had lunch. I had pastsa and meatballs . My husband had lasagna and chicken. The meatballs where good . Just not what I am used to eating . They were not made with hamburger . Maybe pork or veal. But I would... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
