Busy restaurant with better than average food and service in an area with lots of very average tourist traps. Pasta and pizza are excellent. Extensive wine list at reasonable prices. Waiter was great, very friendly - suggested a better wine for the same price as the one I had chosen. Relaxed atmosphere (but on the noisy side). Booking is a... more

We recently ate at this restaurant twice, and enjoyed it very much. Memorable dishes include a salad with pear and cheese, another with dried beef, and a pizza with zucchini flowers and anchovies. We'd definitely recommend Il Chianti. more

I don't know what other people ate here but to travel hundreds of miles to experience great italian food and then be faced with possibly the worst meal I have ever had anywhere in he world. Starter of porcini on a bit of toat was awful, and the main was just unedible, waiter took us into see the manager (she... more

We left one restaurant in hopes of finding a better way to complete our trip to Rome and we were not disappointed. The wine and food were excellent. The wait staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm and lively. It was also very close to the Trevi fountain and it was great for people watching. Everything about Il Chianti... more

We ate here twice in early December last year and absolutely loved it both times. I did a ton of restaurant research before our trip, but despite all the rave reviews we didn't love any of the places I'd found (I've never actually had a bad meal in Italy, but the other places just weren't great). So, we decided to... more

After reading so many great reviews about this place, my partner and I went to Il Chianti for dinner last night. I was completely baffled as to why people seem to love this restaurant. We went at 9:00pm and had to wait in line for thirty minutes to be seated. Then, once we were seated, we sat for another thirty... more

one wouldn't think that you could get this type of meal near such a heavy tourist area. my husband and i stopped for lunch one day, had a delicious salad (it had to be for hubby to love it) and two really great pizzas. service was great, had to sit inside as it looked like rain and i'm glad we... more

We had a wonderful meal here - the food was interesting and excellently prepared. We had a plate of cured meats to start, followed by a vegetarian ravioli and a special braised pork dish. The service was great, and the atmosphere is modern-rustic. Though there was a wait, it was not too much of a big deal. Next time, I'd... more

We have just returned from our second trip to Rome and our fourth visit to Il Chianti. The food is always good, the atmosphere second to none. This restaurant is alway busy, with locals and visitors whether you go lunch time or evening. The staff are all very friendly but professional. For a good meal with good atmosphere this is... more

This is a lovely place but a bit overpriced for what it is, having said that, the portions are big and the quality of the ingredients are excellent. It's predominantly tuscan cuisine so not traditionally Roman. All in all I'd reccomend going there, and also sitting inside as the outside seating is a little crowded and the atmosphere inside is... more
