Description: The Cabiria, the gourmet setting of the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora...
The Cabiria, the gourmet setting of the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora, is the realm of chef Luigi Sorrentino. The culinary journey starts in Naples but then moves on to the other Italian regions according to the season. Is it the right time for aubergines? So then it’s time for the special “paccheri” pasta from Gragnano served with aubergines sliced into thin strips and fried until they are golden, “pachino” tomatoes dried, salted “baccalà” cod and Gaeta olives. The inspiration comes from the season and from the colours of the day. A rainy or grey day means more color on the plate. And the Gulf of Naples shows its influence even on the shape of the food. The “Faraglione” is a flan made with almonds, chocolate vanilla ice-cream and nutty “gianduia” sitting on a kiwi sauce, and always makes guests think of Capri’s famous Faraglione rock

This restaurant was the location of our Trafalgar Tour farewell dinner. Although it was a private dinner with a fixed menu, I can say that the food was excellent, our service was excellent and the ambience fit the occasion. It wasn't a formal, coat-and-tie dinner but it was fancier than a typical night out. The entertainment (singer and piano player)... More

Really wanted to love this restaurant because we are staying at the hotel where it is located. We actually tried it twice to be fair. We ordered from the specialty menu offering three choices which listed several appetizers, soups, a salad, four entrees, three deserts And a glass of red or white table wine. 25 EUs per person. I had... More

We stopped in every day for the week we were in Rome. The servers were very friendly and they remembered what we liked and we're accommodating when we ordered snakes off the menu.

great location but extremely old, requires extensive renovations urgently Wifi is terrible. Layout is dysfunctional, have to take two elevators in order to get to breakfast room. Staff is very laid back especially at the reception. Location makes up for many of the setbacks.

Taste the baked ravioli pasts stuffes with caciotta cheese but avoid the tiramisu cake. The pianist was very good singing many songs.

Brilliant food and service. The hotel was advertising a special offer of 3 courses and a glass of house wine for 25 euro per head. We took a chance and it proved to be a good choice. There was a reasonable selection of dishes and tasty bread provided. The ambiance was good, service was great and the food was good. I... More

Set in a beautiful Marriott property this restaurant boasts some of the best service I have seen in Roma. The atmosphere lends itself to a casual but elegant space which is indeed unique to a hotel restaurant. The fare was spot on and the dish of the night was the homemade gnocchi. A must!! I would also recommend any of... More

We ate here one evening while we were in Rome. We were serenaded by the piano player and the service was amazing. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very posh. The menu has a lot to offer and while not cheap, totally worth it. Attentive service, very romantic and we were sad to leave. Much to love here!

I loved the furnishings in the room, comfy bed and linens the deep bathtub. The restaurant - menu and food preparation isn't quite up to par, could use improvement.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
