The Cabiria, the gourmet setting of the Rome Marriott Grand Hotel Flora, is the realm of chef Luigi Sorrentino. The culinary journey starts in Naples but then moves on to the other Italian regions according to the season. Is it the right time for aubergines? So then it’s time for the special “paccheri” pasta from Gragnano served with aubergines sliced into thin strips and fried until they are golden, “pachino” tomatoes dried, salted “baccalà” cod and Gaeta olives. The inspiration comes from the season and from the colours of the day. A rainy or grey day means more color on the plate. And the Gulf of Naples shows its influence even on the shape of the food. The “Faraglione” is a flan made with almonds, chocolate vanilla ice-cream and nutty “gianduia” sitting on a kiwi sauce, and always makes guests think of Capri’s famous Faraglione rock

We ate her since as Platinum Marriott members we had 50% off food, not drinks. The restaurant was busy each night with other events and the other customers were very loud. Not the restaurant's fault, but did make for a noisy dinner and service was not great. The food was fine, taste was ok, but it was not hot enough.... More

There are so many good restaurants in Rome, like La locanda di Bacco, San Marco, just around the corner, Forte dei Imperali. Avoid this restaurant. Staff was not very friendly, we had salad (how you can get a salad tasteless?! Well here they manage!) Melanzane, was very watery, tasteless, hamburger and fries (so hard, you couldn't use your fork to... More

We were here the second evening this restaurant was opened on the rooftop. We were thrilled with the food and the service. Franco is very attentive to every table and the patrons when we were there all seemed extremely happy with the food and the service. This included couples, a big group and a family with little children. We enjoyed... More

My wife and I were there, at the end of a 14 day tour, and this was the Farewell meal. The meal itself wasn't bad, but far from memorable or even close to the best we had on the entire tour. Grilled toast with tomatoes, two types of pasta (of course!), Roast Veal (it's been that or pork this entire... More

We did not eat here but stayed in the Marriott Flora where it is located. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor dining. The indoor dining was in a noisy room and the menu never changed while we were there. No specials. The outdoor area was not inviting. We skipped the place despite getting an offer for a free bottle of... More

Two of us enjoyed a limoncello and cookies under the umbrella as the other members of our party toured and shopped. The delightful interlude was restful, relaxing and delicious. We followed up with very good gelato. Tables were well dressed in linen and service was impeccable.

Usually do not eat at the hotel other than breakfast but thought we would try their special our last night. 3 course with a glass of wine included for 25 euros. Really great service and the quality of the food was great. Ate at a few locations close to the hotel but would have eaten here at least another night.

We stayed in the hotel and usually pick a place outside for dinner but we were not disappointed with anything we ordered. They also had a nice wine list and we move over into the lounge with our lost glass to listen to the live piano.

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
