Got there at 7 pm. The guy at the door said my wife and I have to wait for 30 minutes because the restaurant doesn't open until 7:30. It was our last night in Rome so we wanted to try a restaurant away from our usual spots. We waited at a bar down the street until 7:30 and went back....

I visited this restaurant in 2012. This year, I came again since I remember this restaurant as an excellent place to eat. My visit just confirmed my opinion that this restaurant is really something special and a perfect example of fine italian cousine and atmosphere. The need to make a reservation and the queues outside attest to the popularity of this restaurant. The food and atmosphere are good but you have to wonder how main courses priced at 12-18 euros can lead to a bill around €125 for a couple.
If you are in Rome you must, must, MUST eat here! We had 4 nights in rome and ate at La Tavera die Fori on our last night - we really did save the best till last!
After seeing the great reviews on Trip Advisor we decided to call up ahead of our trip (You must book in advance for...

Our hotel was close by and this restaurant was recommended by then and on TA. Our hotel advised that it was best to book a place on a Saturday night in...

Perhaps my experience was a tad different since I visited this restaurant with a friend of Chef Alezzio & family. We dined here 4 of the 6 nights we were in Rome & each night was a delight. We didn't even look at the menu, just let them serve us a variety of whatever they chose for us. And after...
