You could smell the garlic walking up to the front door . Caters for the see Rome and die crowd .Tables crowded together ,English speaking waiters and a smattering of locals this is definitely aimed for the tourist dollar .Food is OK I guess but don't expect anything out of the ordinary --veal chop as thin as it was scientifically... So tasty, friendly service, relaxed, authentic - what more can you want from a local taverna? I had a specials hazelnut tagliatelle and my friend had a caprese salad. Both were delicious. Recommend you book as we tried to get in last night but it was ram packed full so we came back for lunch. So glad we did!!

This is a small, very busy family run restaurant with very good food. Do not even think of trying to get in without a reservation. We tried once and were turned away ( unfortunately with some attitude by the host). The room was packed! Our hotel secured a reservation for us a couple nights later and we enjoyed our meal... More

Me and my daughter had there lunch after a morning at the forum. We had to wait 45 minutes because the place was packed (used the time to walk the lovely streets in the area) so reservation is recommended. This is my second time there and both were great. The food is simply delicious, classic Italian food made to perfection.... More

Tied for best food we had our whole trip... Buschetta (not typical tomato) was so good I spent most of dinner describing it to my wife to the point she threatened to break up with me if I didn't shut up about it. She had the sea bass... It was cray good. Go here before it the chef gets arrested.... More

After a 3-hour walking tour of the Colosseum and Forum, we were famished. La Taverna was the best rated option close by. I LOVED the cacio e pepe with truffle, baked sea bass, and caponata Sicilian style. Great place to recharge after a long morning of touring Rome's sights.

We dined here based on recommendations from my brother who had been here the previous year. Location is great, tiny street close to the Forum. Atmosphere is wonderful, small trattoria style of place. We reserved well in advance and were personally greeted by Alessio (the chef/owner), who also made a point of taking our orders and serving us. He was... More

I think the title says it all! Every dish we tried was delicious, and the service was impeccable. While clearly there was one waiter responsible for our table, no matter which waiter or waitress happened to pass by they quickly scanned the table to see if we needed anything. We had the feeling that we were invited guests at an... More

We ate twice here. It was busy both at lunch and dinner. I would recommend booking or turning up right on opening time. We found the staff friendly and it was easy to order gluten free, they also confirmed it was gluten free when placing on table. Staff came and asked how we were enjoying our food on both visits....
