Lovely location, food was average and quite expensive

It was a great spot and the waiters were very attentive. The food was average and somewhat pricey. Watch out service is already included in the bill.

This evening was a highlight of our trip.It was our first night in Italy and we were travelling in a group of 42.The ambiance on the square ,the superb food ,service and general atmosphere was something to behold. The seafood salad starter was a dish of beauty and the family service was outstanding. Bitterly cold Lemoncello finished off a great... More

After having walked out of a restaurant across the Piazza we sat down here a little grumpy...But not for long. Firstly the service from start to finish was fantastic. All the staff were amazing from helping us with our wine selection through course options. Brilliant!!! The food was fabulous. All four of us loved our meals and the presentation of... More

High price small quantity. On top of that you pay 15% for the service. Strange never heard before. Everything is prepared....no olive oil in the table. ...is time to save...Un lazagnia di cassa costa 17 euro....😨😨😨😨 . I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! !!!!!!

Food is not bad, but we paid 100 euro for two people. Clearly priced for tourists. You can likely find similar or better quality for half the price.

Ate lunch here this weekend, what a fantastic find! Sat outside in a gorgeous square, complete with obligatory roman fountain. The church bells even chimed for effect .. Starters - Parma and melon - parma and mozzarella For mains we shared fried seafood with a rocket and tomato salad on the side. Waiters are friendly, atmosphere is fantastic. Superb.

We ate lunch here after visiting Santa Maria in Trastavere just across the piazza. We enjoyed our lunch and the lovely setting. A little on the expensive side, but not crazy, and the food and service were good.

Sabatini is a family run restaurant in the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere. The food and service are outstanding. It is great fun to watch the crowds, especially at night!

Visited Sabatini together with old friends while in Rome for business. Phenomenal wine selection with numerous top vintages of outstanding winemakers from both Italy and France. The food was also fantastic and made a great accompaniment to the wine. Location on the S. Maria Piazza is probably the biggest attraction for most as this is a beautiful location to stop... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
