Awful; the only thing this place has going for it is location. Otherwise it exists solely as a tourist rip off. Like €10 a drink and average food that is overpriced and snooty management. I'm sure the owners are rich but they won't be getting my business. Moral of the story: there are plenty of authentic, good locals. Look around... More

We sat outside on a quiet November lunch time and enjoyed the wonderful location. Good food overall but expensive: the (small) antipasto was €14, although quite delicious, with seasonal artichoke, bruschetta, courgette croquettes... The 'house wine' was also good but overpriced. Service was good too, all waiters spoke English but beware: we weren't offered bread but had we accepted it,... More

On a walking day in Rome we found ourselves across the Tiber in Trastevere and stumbled across this great wee restaurant in the main square. It was quiet and we got attentive service. The food was excellent if a little pricey but perfect place to relax and watch the world go by. Rome seems to have got very expensive -... More

The location of this restaurant is perfect: right on the main square of Trastevere, facing the Church of Santa Maria in Trastevere. But it's way overpriced. Understanding that you pay to sit at a table and understanding it's location, it's still way overpriced. Second, they seem to think very well of themselves. One Saturday evening the cafe next doors on... More

On a quiet november evening we sat outside and enjoyed the food. It may be expensive but quality was good as well. Excellent wine list. Nice people serving. Rather authentic food but, as I said, it was a quiet evening. Perhaps a Saturday in August is not as good an idea.

I expected more. Food was good but not superb. Good but expensive list of wines. Very well located in the piazza overlooking the Basilica Santa Maria in Trastevere. Almost twice as expensive as a regular cantina but not twice as good. The view and location pays off.

There are a handful of cafes and restaurants in the heart of the piazza and Sabatini is one of them. The location is ideal and the restaurant has a lot of seating. Many times I've been at one of the neighboring cafes and Sabatini's is always empty--especially during the day. At night, however, many tourists come to be a part... More

After visited the Sabatini restaurant in Hong Kong, I've long to visit the original one in Rome for a great dinner here with high expectation. We reserved a table for dinner on weekday. We arrived at 7’ish to find he square and other restaurants packed with people, but this restaurant is only half occupied in the alfresco area and empty... More

I really love Trastevere and this place near the St.Maria Church. There's a lovely view from the restaurant, helpful staff and good coffee. What else is needed for a short brake during your long-time walk around the city?)

This used to be one of the most famous restaurants in Rome...kind of a legend really. Wow, so disappointed to see what it has now become. A sad tourist trap really. The food was passable but nothing special. Service was a bit indifferent. The fresh funghi porcini were good but were way too salty and oily for my taste. The... More
