Great 1st lunch in Rome

This was a minute from our apartment ( rented via Airbnb.com and happy to give details if you wish as very good and very convenient) Stopped for lunch as had literally just arrived, dropped bags and gone off to explore this wonderful city.....but we were all a tad peckish. So lunch for 4 in... read more

We were looking for a non-touristy restaurant. This restaurant looked packed with lots of people - and most of them looked like locals - which got us excited. We ordered pasta, lamb chops with baked potatoes (they best I have had in a while) and wine. Plus my wife also order a side of egg plant (really awesome). The waiter... More

The food quality and the service were quite good. The environment inside the restaurant was very good also.

The service was great and the food was delicious. I initially ordered lobster, however the owner reported back to us after some time that he refused to serve it to us, as the lobster wasn't good quality. It was very honest and genuine to come back to us in this way and offered us an alternative dish. I also got... More

When visiting Rome in March 2015 our Roman friends made reservations for us to eat here one Tuesday evening. It was incredible! The amount of food was hard to imagine and the service was spot on! We had multiple dishes of food, ranging from veggies to pasta to desert and everything was fabulous! I highly recommend this place to anyone... More

I admit it, I am fan. Every time I'm in Rome I try and go and have lunch or dinner at l'Orso 80, and the main reason is the antipasto della casa. 15 different servings covering the entire range of prosciutto, salame, vegetables, all the way to meatballs, beans, you name it. Wonderful! What comes after is an afterthought even... More

Friends at home told us to try here, especially the antipasti, we did share one portion between us and there was plenty! We followed with seafood risotto and grilled fish. Lovely wine and limoncello too.

Basic Roma fare - we ate good spaghetti vongole, rigatoni not so good - local people enjoying a friendly evening.

The staff, the rooms and the food makes you feel like home. Friendly people, with a warm place and excellent food. Clean place, fast service and a great atmosphere with no too much tourists. Try everything, because the meats, the pastas, the antipastis and the sweets are truly good. Even the vino de la casa was good.

Visited twice this trip and were welcomed by all the staff. We only come to Rome at New Year (for the last ten years) but each time we visit, the welcome is the same. I'm not sure what an earlier poster meant by "touristic interior". Not that many tourists find this place, but lunchtimes are usually pretty busy with locals.... More
