Pleasant surprise

I saw this restaurant on trip advisor before our trip to Rome and I put it on my map of places to dine. It's located just off the piazza from the Pantheon. Delicious fish dishes patchy service. Extremely expensive. First time I went I was invited and upon my arrival was told my hosts hadn't arrived. I waited at the bar for 30 minute to then see my host exit to get a phone signal to call me to see if I had forgotten! Food was delicious. Last night again food delicious... More

The oysters were unbelievably fresh, served very cold. Buffalo mozzarella from Campania that was wonderful. Linguini with Veraci clams and Spaghetti with Langoustines all done to perfection with a bottle of white wine poured in small amounts. Service was attentive. A wonderful lunch at a great price.

And that's saying a lot because we had so many great meals. But honestly, La Rosetta topped them all. The food is fresh, creative and divine, presentation is gorgeous, the service friendly and attentive. Very expensive, a splurge, but totally worth it. Don't miss their tirimisu!

Despite being only yards from the jaws of the Pantheon and the tourist hordes, this place feels like the real Rome. If you like seafood (if you don't, don't bother with this place) then this is the King of them all. We had taster menu which was superb with all kinds of fish and shellfish presented in an delightful way.... More

My husband isn't keen on fish, so this was always going to be a bit of a challenge, however he really enjoyed the tuna tartare, and loved his lobster pasta dish. I ate sea bass from the raw menu, served with artichoke and lemon, followed about an amazingly tasty and satisfying prawn, cheese pasta dish. The deconstructed tiramisu for dessert... More

We read about this place as 'no just ordinary tourist place' even though is near the Pantheon. What can I say besides - go and try it. Oysters are delicious (I still like the cheapest ones the most). We didn't want to eat big because we had our Christmas eve dinner already arranged so we stopped only for a bit.... More
