Lovely setting/Good food

For our first night in Rome we asked our concierge at the Intercontinental as there are so many restaurants at the bottom of the Spanish Steps. This was a perfect suggestion. Service was excellent and very friendly. My linguine and claims was the best I have ever had and I eat that quite a bit .My... read more

Ate on the outdoor patio. Noticed that many of the other diners were locals. We each had pasta dishes. They were well presented and fresh tasting. The waitstaff was attentive and professional. The price was right. I would recommend this for people who want to stay out of tourist traps.

We visited this place following some good reviews on TA. As you approach the restaurant your first impressions are filthy parasols! It really doesn't make the place look inviting! Anyway the food was OK. We all had pizzas and I had the veal. My wife's pizza was very oily, so bad that she had to tip it off the plate... More

This was our third time a La Capricciosa. As usual, it was a welcome respite from the Roman sun. The place is charming, with a vibe right out of Roman Holiday. The food is great and generous. The capricciosa pizza (claimed to have originated here) is a must. It must be good, as the place was full of local business... More

We ate lunch here with my mother, and both liked the place. Food came quickly and it was delish. I ate spaghetti with tomatoes and my mom had carbonara. Simple, but really good dishes. Service was quick and friendly.

Italian restaurants usually don't offer pizza al forno at lunch. This one does. Ample outdoor and indoor seating. Close to the Spanish Steps and the Ara Pacis.

We arrived at the restaurant for dinner and found the place quite full, but managed to find a table for two. The people there are really nice and we even loved the food! Some waiters don't have the finesse in gently opening bottle of wine but there were no big issues with that. Food is nice, athmosphere is also really... More

We were brought to this lovely restaurant by our tour guide.guide. Ohhhhh, I cant say enough good words about this restaurant, service was outstanding, food delicious. We asked for ''little bit of everything'' and they went extra mile;-) for it. We tried porcini mushrooms, artichokes, pasta, deserts - all was excellent. When we returned next day, we were greeted like... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
