A good dinner reasonably priced

We stumbled upon the ristorante near Saint Maria Church nearby. We went in almost immediately without a reservation Items on the mnus were reasonably price, definitely a very good Price-to-Quality ratio. This is buzzy, lively and serves delicious crisp pizza at reasonable prices. Wine is reasonable too.

We had read about Ivo in a Danish newspaper, which recommended it as a great experience, off the beaten track. We came reasonably early, which was our luck, because an hour later the place was packed... It's packed, it's loud and it's a lot of fun... People talk, laugh, eat and drink wine and have a good time there. Not... More

Not sure why this place shows to be pricey. We had antipasto, pizza, and wine for under 25?. The pizza was great. Give this place a try.

We loved our pizza at Ivo. On my first trip to Rome, we missed going to this well known pizzeria, so we were determined not to miss this time. We ordered the "normale" size, one each. You can also have "gigante" but we wanted to save room for dessert. Part of the experience is the fun of looking inside, seeing... More

So glad we found this restaurant on our Rome trip. We ate pizza with aubergine that was excellent!! They have yellow tiramisu that was amazing as well!Restaurant was full of people while the locals in the neighbourhood were almost empty (which I always take to be a good sign). The service was very nice and friendly. I will be back... More

We understand that when a large place is packed, staff may struggle to keep ujp, but we sat in that joint for 3 HOURS, just to get an appetizer (supplí and fried artichokes) and a simple fried steak for me and a spaghetti carbonara for my mate. Apologies or a free drink or so were clearly not even considered. Big... More

Amazing food!! Recently found this restaurant per chance on a trip to Rome and so glad we did. Restaurant was lively and full of local Italian people (which I always take to be a good sign) out celebrating birthdays and having family fun. We had pizza and pasta to share and both were truly delicious! The restaurant was very busy... More

Well first of all lets start with the pizza, you could smell the burning pizza in the entire restaurant plus with all the people inside, the entire atmosphere was really heavy. You couldn't breathe normally. The Spaghetti carbonara was just terrible. It terms of quality it smelled bad, it a bit more oil, and overal it was dry. No flavor... More

We looked during almost 30 min for a restaurant at Trastevere to have a dinner. It is not easy if you want to avoid a typical tourist local paying more for less. Be aware that some locals like Cajo & Gajo are cheating and use agencies to write positive reviews in Tripadvisor (4,5 bullets over 5 over 900 reviews =>... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
