My husband was toured out when the owner invited us in. We circled the block and decided to return and take a break. This turned out to be a blessed decision which ended with us taking photos with the owner and his wife back in the kitchen. This place is the real deal! We started off with a small beer... More

There are many excellent choices in Trastavere, but this place nonetheless manages to stand out. Excellent food with excellent service to accompany it. We can particularly recommend the bruschetta funghi as the best bruschetta we've had in Italy, the carbonara as probably the best we've had anywhere in the world, and the steak and veal as outstanding as well. Lovely... More

We found this restaurant on the internet and decided to give it a try as it was within walking distance from where we were staying in Rome. It is on a side street in the delightful area of Trastevere, Rome. We had no reservations, so had to wait a bit, but the wait staff were quite friendly and offered us... More

Checked this from tripadvisor, and met all expectations: great food and friendly service for reasonable price. Limoncello-tiramisu as special dessert, yum!

Everything was delicious. We were a table of 6 and we tried different plates from each other and all were delicious, Appetizers and starters were typical examples of local tasty cuisine. And everything very affordable. Will definitely return!

We stumbled upon the restaurant, and might have walked on had we not been drawn in by the owner's brilliant patter. Patter alone does not work with me however: it was the late lunch-time aromas, and many happy-looking customers, added to his charm which decided us. Shared antipasti, a delicious Neapolitan pizza for me, seafood for my wife, washed down... More

I went to Alle Fratte in mid-September because a friend of mine told me about this great Neapolitan place in Trastevere--right near Santa Maria in Trastevere. I grew suspicious on two counts: Everyone always says that anything in Trastevere is a stone's throw from the Santa Maria in T. (It usually isn't)--and Neapolitan cuisine in the Eternal City? Et tu,... More

Went here on last night in Rome, wish we'd discovered it sooner! Food was great! We met another couple there that had been there several times they liked it so much. Try the squid!
