Hidden along side the Spanish steps in Rome, Alla Rampa has become one of our favorite restaurants when visiting Rome. It is difficult to have a "favorite" dish here, as everything that we have tried has exceeded our expectations, from the homemade Cheese Gnocchi prepared with potatoes and gorgonzola, to the Profiteroles with whipped cream and hot chocolate for dessert. more

This was great food, in a great setting! I enjoyed a great pasta dish with veal and it was incredible, great bread and wine. I have to say that this place was one of those places that you can feel like it is just there for you, your secret place that only you know about! The servers were efficient, not... more

The location was great but the meal was just okay. I would only give it a 3 out of 5. It was busy but really its location is its drawing card. The menu was extensive but we had a large table so we did have a great cross-section of the menu. The pasta courses were average. The Ossobuco was very... more

Rome seems to be full of sidewalk cafes and restaurants which, given their poor quality food, awful service, and exorbitant prices, barely disguise their contempt for tourists. This is especially the case in the Spanish Steps area, so finding a hidden gem like Alla Rampa was lucky indeed. Located at the base of the Spanish steps (on the right hand... more

I went here based on tripadvisor ratings and was SORELY dissapointed. This place is very close to the spanish steps and the clientele is made up entirely of tourists. We did the antipasti buffet that people rave about on here and it was gross. I left more then half my plate and wasn't satisfied. The waiter even noticed how much... more

had dinner at alla rampa on friday, Jul 16th 2009. We sat inside and found the dining room spacious and roomy and a bit cooler than outside in the 105f temps. Meal was excellent, with great service and wonderful local cuisine. The only problem was choosing from their expansive menu! I finally let the wait staff decide for me and... more

After reading reviews on a couple of different websites and the fact that I was staying at the TOP of the Spanish Steps this restaurant became a no brainer and boy - it was great. We ate there on a Monday evening about 8:30pm and got a table outside - NOT under the tarp - much nicer this way. The... more

We were given the recommendation to dine at Alla Rampa from a couple from California that we just randomly started talking to at the Spanish Steps. We got to dine outdoors on the patio. The menu includes affordable wines, pastas and second courses and some things you wont find on every menu like dishes with duck and rabbit. The duck... more

Ate here our last night in Rome. We had eaten here before and really enjoyed the antipasti buffet. The rest of the food was excellent, especially my veal chop. Pricing was pretty competitive and not too high. I highly recommend this restaurant. more

Our first night in Rome, we couldn't wait to get back to our favorite restaurant from last year's trip, Alla Rampa in Piazza Mignonelli near the Spanish Steps. Love their incredible antipasti buffet (one medium-size plate 10 €), which included wonderful bitter puntarelle greens, marinated seafood, rabbit legs wrapped in prosciutto, spicy anchovies, and too many other treats to mention.... more
