My wife and I were looking for a nice meal in Rome and our hotel concierge sent us to Il Convivio. The hotel is located down a small alley. The restaurant is a 1 star Michelin award winner (so you know the food is fabulous!) The menu is very limited (there were 5-6 starters on the menu, 5-6 first courses... More

Service was good and the food was delicious. We came here as we wanted a quintessential fine dining experience and we got one. The wine pairing worked well and the number or courses, size of dishes and menu was great. I would recommend.

We booked this place without knowing much about it. When we walked in, we realised we were unprepared for such splendour! But the staff were very courteous and friendly. They were very happy to accommodate my gluten intolerance and my mother's mushroom allergy, altering meals to suit us personally. The food and service were both outstanding, and the one occasion... Very good. Stylish yet very freindly and cosy atmosphere. A bit stiff and formal, but food and service is just great. The chef came to say hello after dinner, a great place to visit in Rome.

This restaurant was a wonderful experience for us in Rome, a flavour-filled, romantic, gourmet night out. From the moment of our arrival (which was ill-timed as we arrived, due to a misunderstanding, 30 minutes before the restaurant opened), we received impeccable service (but, admittedly, verging almost on the stiff a little). As soon as the menu arrived we knew we... More

I love eating and its just a blessing to find places where you can eat delicious food, not in tiny portions and still be amazed by the different flavors and textures- a pasta alla matriciana here is a different experience! Service is impecable, wine list complete. I am not a huge fan of the decor though.

I went to Il Convivio Troiani on 31st May and I had made reservation 2-3 weeks in advance. Seat arrangement was great and the atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and cozy. Although the foods are not the most excellent but it was awesome no matter in taste, presentation and creativity. Service was excellent. As it was my wift's birthday... More

We went to this restaurant with great expectations because it had been awarded a Michelin Star. Sadly it was a disappointment. The staff was extremely nice and the service good, the place pleasant but the food was far from Michelin standards. The food presentation was absurd (asparagus heads cut in four) and the explanations too long (four sorts of bread,... More

We had an excellent dinner last night. Excellent, because not only the food was perfect, also the service and atmosphere is just great to make your evening memorable. We took the six course tasting menu including wine. You will get one surprise after the other. Memorable was the pizza and bacon ice cream before desert. Ask the helpful waiters with... More

Food This was definitely a case of style over substance. The quality of the food was poor, it lacked flavour and the textures were not good. The presentation was as you would expect, but the food quality let the place down, it was bland and no flavours married well. I definitely had better food in Rome at much cheaper places,... More
