Beautiful setting, great service and food was superb

We arrived to a very quiet building - in fact we were the only guests but as we were a group of nine seated in a small area off the main restaurant this did not matter.

I first visited Hostaria Dell Órso back in 1987 recommended by my sister who lived in Roma at the time. Still superb in every way. The antipasto outstanding with the mozzarela buffala and the prociutto. The artichokes were fantastic we had fish and pasta dishes, The fruto de mare was great as the lingine alle vongole ( with clams ).... More

authentic Italian palazzo next to the river. Really nice setting, and a beautiful terrace. The service was trying to be 5 star but it lacked a bit of luster!! Food was good, however menu was very limited for a michelin restaurant. Wine list just superb but clearly not enough to make up for the night, as service made us feel... More

We booked this restaurant through Amex (they have now updated their records following our feedback) to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived 10 minutes early and weren't asked if we would like a drink at the bar or would like to go straight to our table. We were shown to our table and given menus then the waiter left us.... To put this into context, of the ~65 reviews I have done, two have been negative. This is the third. To be fair to the restaurant, they had a group booking that had taken up all but about 6 tables and I think that may have distracted them. But until the group arrived, there were only 3 other couples dining;... More

We enjoyed a lovely dinner at this newly opened location. We started with the carpaccio di manzo, and then I had the sea bass while my husband had the filet of beef. Both were quite good, and beautifully presented. The wine list has many selections including some quite pricey ones, but we just went with the house red,and we were... More

We made reservations for a special event during our trip to Rome and the food was fine, the service adequate and the atmosphere acceptable. But for the price, it disappointed. We arrived wanting a pre-dinner dinner drink in the piano bar. It was closed. As mentioned, the food was fine but we'd had better in Rome the two evenings before... More

When we asked at our hotel to make a reservation at a restaurant to taste italian cuisine, we did not expect that we would find ourselves in such an environment. A beautiful old house, near Tiber, in the centre of Rome. Excellent food: spaghetti was very good and the sorbet chocolate with rum I got for desert was the best... More

Our group had dinner at Hostaria dell"Orso and I felt like being invited to an Italian home. The restaurant is set in an old house within the city center. Access is via what was then the foyer, and we were ushered to the second level where the tables were set. Service was good, and food was near excellent. I loved... More
