Description: In order to write the story of this cafe we should get to meet every person...
In order to write the story of this cafe we should get to meet every person who has gone to it, or most of them. Certainly each one of them would have a bit of story kept in the casket of their memories. Memories of unforgettable moment, but above all of a bit of history which has helped our Country to be born again. It was the Sixties and our bar proudly represented the meeting place of the " By nigth " Rome, of the " Dolce vita " (Sweet life), the place where riotous loves were born, where never revealed agreements were signed, were everything was familiar ... This was Harry's Bar. In the hearts of the ones who patronenized it, it never died, despite the hard times. Harry's Bar Rome was born in 1959, took its name only in 1962 but the cafe existed since 1918. It was the Golden Gate Confectioner's, quoted in many books. At the end of the Twenties it became part of the De Gasperis' family until 1958, the very year it cake to be American Bar Restaurant. Today the cafe shines in its Boisseirie, and in its plasters, more then 35 years old, of late renovated, the same feel you got in those years. He who doesn't know Harry's Bar Rome, has now good reason to go and see it. Legendary Harry's Bar is the unique place that evokes tbc "Dolce Vita' as if it were a clip from the film, creating a vivid flashback to the golden era of the Via Veneto, when Frank Sinatra sang at the piano and all the stars made their appearance in this bar/restaurant full of glamour and style. As in the roaring sixties, you can still sip an aperitif, enjoy the live piano bar every evening and dive into tbc magic of the Via Veneto from the exclusive and fascinating Harry's Bar. The refined cuisine recalls the freshness of Mediterranean flavours based on prime ingredients. Tradition and fantasy inspire the elegant dishes of the menu, accompanied by the most prestigious labels and a high class service.

Near villa Borghese, a special and silent restaurant, delicious, cleaned, great food. A very good service, and meal, for a meet or family lunch.

We'd a late lunch there. The meal was perfect. The food and ambiance extremely pleasant. And the desserts were something special.

A grand locale to experience life as it once was during the Dolce Via (sweet life) days in Rome on Via Veneto. You come here expecting top quality food, drinks and service and Harry's did not disappoint. Often frequented by celebrities and important government dignitaries, if you wallet permits, I highly recommend the Harry's Bar experience. I recently met up... More

Harry's Bar is a classy place at the end of Via Veneto and although on the pricey side, you get what you pay for. It's a great place to sit back and enjoy a drink but the meals are also of top notch quality I also like the little things they do that make the experience more enjoyable. For example,... More

Called for a drink on a hot spring day. I would recommend this bar, yes it's a bit expensive but worth a visit. Staff very nice, and the drinks were delicious. 4 drinks 50€ but we were given very nice nibbles with them. I would go again when I return to Rome

Harry's Bar was so chic, elegant and a perfect fine dining restaurant. My choice was cacio e pepe which was perfect, try tiramisu and espresso as well. There is a never ending menu for wines. The fee range is rather wide. The waiters are very polite and competent. What I liked most is definitely the live music-such a great performance-... More

Great drinks, you feel the history, take a left when you come in and sit by the bar. Friendly bartender. They even have a nice veranda outside heated.

Each visit to Rome I love to come to this place, it's one of the best places in Rome. You are very well welcomed and treated properly. The food is great, ambience is fabulous and sure your stay there will be relaxing, peaceful and full of fun. Though it's pricey. It's not something to miss while in rome

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
