This restaurant is in a spectacular location, allowing for a pre/post stroll. The location may be impressive but the food was impeccable and the service was attentive and generous. You should not leave Rome before eating here and having some lovely wine. The atmosphere is relaxing, the food warming and the manager and waiters all are very well prepared to guide you through the eating experience. Music from all over the world playing in the background too. Pip

We both had the tasting menu (78eu) Good start with the raw tuna and cucumber soon, nice balanced dish......but then it goes a bit all over the place, never really offensive but not balanced and nothing special, the sea bass ravioli was weirdly over fishy and the chick pea and mushroom soup just didn't fit (and was again a bit... From the moment if entry, this is a truly special place. Welcoming staff, interesting ambience, menu with really interesting and extensive choice. Wine list wide ranging to suit taste and budget. Bread fantastic, amuse bouche a wonderfully subtle celery ceviche. The grilled prawns are just divine. Service throughout was excellent. A slightly long wait for a taxi was softened by... More

This very elegant restaurant is located in the historical area uphill the Gianicolo hill in Rome which, per se, is one of the must-go in Rome. The ambiance is cool, service is spotlessly carried out by very young and skilled, professional personnel. Menu is traditional revisited with some -but little-, equilibrated and fully-acceptable even by the integralist mouth hint at... More

Although a bit of long taxi ride from the historic center we are glad we went there for my birthday. The starters were excellent; I had the crispy mozzarella served in a puff pastry that was excellent, while my wife had the pigeon breast in a crust of pistachio crumbs that was also excellent. For the main course I had... More

No matter where you are staying in Rome, find a way to get to this Trastevere treasure. The food here is outstanding and the service is excellent as well. They serve a number of tradiditional dishes with modern and unique twist.

We were here with old friends, celebrating a big anniversary, so for us th company was the main thing, and excellent it was! The tasting menu was exciting and the wines proposed to accompany it were in the main very good. The cuisine here is truly nouvelle and all the more interesting for it. I would only say that it... It's a long way uphill from the main drag of Trastevere, so you'll need a cab if not motorised. Tram will not get you even close. Ask for a table in the main room where all the action is, we were in a side room which was rather soulless. Food was wonderful, fried squid as a greeting from the kitchen,... More

Food was really good and very high quality with interesting combinations of ingredients, sauces, etc. Portions were smaller, but still satisfying. It was nice to leave an Italian restaurant without feeling stuffed. Chef sent out complimentary starters, desserts, and small tasting plates of some dishes we ordered for sharing. The prices were on the higher side but prosecco and wine... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
