Son's 21st birthday

What an awesome restaurant! My son picked out 3 and this happened to be closest to our hotel for our last night in Rome. We came here for my birthday meal - thought we would treat ourselves to something different and we got that in bundles. Refreshingly pleasent staff who greeted us at the door, nothing was too much trouble and the whole experience was extremely easy. I had the scallops and beef which didnt last long on the plate. There was the 'open... More

Restaurant is at top of hill above Trestevere - walk up (not in summer) and build an appetite! Waiting staff were professional - balanced friendly/helpful with being totally unobtrusive. We couldn't agree on what to drink but there was a good enough selection - and help forthcoming - for us each to drink different wines by the glass throughout the... More

The restaurant was recommended by a local Roman friend of ours and I'm so pleased he did. It was my husband's birthday so we wanted a special meal and that's what we got. The staff are super friendly and we decided to go for the taster menu which was delicious. The waiter was lovely and helped us choose a great... More

We ate at antico arco following the reviews we read on trip advisor - it didn't disappoint. The restaurant is at the top of the hill so you can see all of Rome at night. The food was fantastic, good portions and very tasty. The bread was exceptional, some of the best I've ever had. Lastly the wine is very... More

We absolutely loved our meal here! The room itself is almost reason enough to head up to the restaurant. BUT the food tops it all. Everything we had was amazing!!

We visited here during a week in Rome for my 40th birthday and what a delight this restaurant is. The service was excellent from start to finish and was as go as the food itself. If you are in Rome go an have a meal here - you will not be disappointed!

I enjoyed celebrating my birthday here with my husband. The restaurant itself is lovely -- great atmosphere with lots of white and mirrors, good lighting -- and is a great choice for a special occasion dinner. The menu itself is also very creative, which is a refreshing change in a city where all restaurants tend to serve the same dishes.... More

I had dinner here recently with a group of about 30. The restaurant is away from the main part of the city, but the building, an obviously restored villa, is beautiful and very Roman. Equally important, the food was excellent. I was not thrilled when the menu said "duck." However, it was delicious: crispy, perfectly seasoned, not at all heavy... More

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to make sure I eventually put the review this restaurant deserves. My then fiancé and I went to Antico Arco in November of 2014 on two separate occasions. We were in Italy because we decided to get married there and arrived a week before the big day. This was a last minute... More

Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
