Not so good

Beautiful restaurant, very good position, but to expensive for the quality of the food. Service not so good. First dishes to little for the price. Tenderloin was good, but with fat (a good tenderloin doesnt have fat). The desserts were the best! Restrooms very dirty.

After a walking tour of the city with Kate from Eyes of Rome, which I would highly recommend, I asked for a place to have a nice late lunch. Kate said 'Gusto would be a fine choice and indeed it was! It was 1:30 and it wasn't busy at all. They had a comprehensive wine list and I chose a... More

The Carbonara was delicious! Very fancy place, people were dressed up. We just came back from a tour to Pompeii and def were not dressed properly. seating gets filled up fast outside but we waited anyway. I would go back just to get this pasta dish. A little on the pricy side.

We came here for both lunch & for dinner because we liked the location & nice outdoor area. At lunchtime, the food was good & (for Rome) not all that expensive, but the service was really let down when we tried to get the bill - despite the fact that we were practically the only customers sitting outside, we had... First, we came here for aperitivo. The wine and mix drinks were good. Then we went to the restaurant side for dinner. The food was good, and the red wine that we had for dinner was also very delicious. It's off on a quiet street where could enjoy a pleasant meal with friends.

Very nice setting (inside and out), with their own patisserie, and fresh salads. We had the red fruits cheesecake, a delicious treat.

I have been here several times for an aperitivo. The cocktails are really good and beautiful, but the food is not always of consistent quality. Many times it is absolutely delicious, with sophisticated and good 'snacks' but two or three times it was not good at all. The snacks were really simple, sometimes not cooked properly. But most of the... More

Our group of five arrived for an early dinner. We sat outside where one other table was occupied. Our waiter was extremely rude; can't say it's because he was busy. The silverware, dishes and water decanters were dirty. While we were having dinner three other parties came to Gusto, were seated then left within 5 minutes. They were smart people.... More

Gusto wine bar - at the back of the restaurant - provides a great Apericena. This is like aperitif with food. You pay the 10 E, for your wine or cocktail and can take a small plate at the buffet and fill it up as many times as you like. I was with 3 friends and we really enjoyed the... More

We visited for a light meal at lunch. We ordered two pasta dishes, the spaghetti with chilli, garlic and breadcrumbs was very bland even for someone that doesn't like a lot of spice and very oily. The carbonara was overly rich and the lardons weren't cooked enough. The staff paid no attention to us, preferring to fawn over a group... More

Staying in Campo Marzio

Neighborhood Profile
Campo Marzio
From its original role as ancient army training fields to its present-day identity as one of the city’s most desirable neighborhoods, the Campo Marzio is the best place to get lost in Rome. Gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque palazzos line the streets, and are filled with enticing boutiques and food shops. By day, Rome’s best-dressed denizens criss-cross its streets in a fashionable parade of errands, occasionally pausing to look fabulous in gorgeous piazzas like San Lorenzo in Lucina. Campo Marzio can be a bit of a sleeper after aperitivi hour (9pm), so visit by day and experience the pulse of daytime Rome.
