Gelarmony indeed!

Joint best ice cream in Rome with great portions. This is easily the best value ice cream we ate on our trip, but also only rivalled by Frigidarium in quality. There are many exciting flavours and also super cakes and many soya/lactose free options. Well worth the short walk from the Vatican to... read more

Before we came to Rome we were given a guide book that recommended this traditional gelaterie. I've got to say...I can see why. We decided to visit here after visiting the Vatican Museum and on the way back to the Metro....if you don't mind walking a bit further than Ottoviana station. As you enter the shop you are advised to... More

A friendly warm, welcoming service with flavoursome gelato made to perfection, with a price you cannot resist. The flavours were strong, true, mouthwateringly delicious. Pistachio and mango being the must-try flavours. You will not regret trying this place and when you do, you will not going anywhere else.

I was delighted trying every gelataria in Rome. Until a friend recommended this place. And now that I have tried it I feel I can't go anywhere else. Tried so many flavors. Best for me was meringue and if they ask you do you want cream just say yes and thank me for this place :) it really is worth... More

This gelateria is always full of Romans, and this says a lot about the quality of their ice-screams. There is a huge choice of flavors, all delicious, but the pistachio is really divine. For me, this place is an obligatory stop every time I return to Rome. Via Marcantonio Colonna is at walking distance from San Pietro, Castel Sant'Angelo and,... More

Found this on way back to Metro station - lots of flavours and not just your normal ones. Had a kind of strawberry cheesecake with meringue in it as well as pineapple - very very nice. Probably the best we had all week. Very well priced. Euro 2.50 each.

off the spot but better ice-cream than any of the classic guide spots in Roma. You won't find any better. Ice cream, cake, yoghurts, you can have it all....

Over 60 flavours to choose from, reasonably prized (2 flavours in cone 2 euros) and yoghurt bar at the back. What else you can wish for a perfect night?

Very good gelato, with a clever gimmick--they pour chocolate sauce or vanila sauce into the bottom of the cone, so you end with a blast of pure chocolate. This place is next door to us, and is where we have been going since we arrived in Rome last month. I've enjoyed their nocciola della nonna flavor, in particular. The downside... More

This little gelateria is popular for a reason. The gelati comes in all kinds of inventive flavors, and you can get it in.... wait for it... a cannoli cone. Is that genius or what? My pistachio tasted like I was chewing cold pistachio nuts, and my wife had something that I think translated to "miscellaneous" flavor, which was a vanilla... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
