Absolutely Incredible - Friendliest owner and staff as well

This was by far our best meal we've had in Rome. The restaurant is on a quiet little street and is pretty modern by Roman standards. The owner of the place greeted us warmly and even gave us free glasses of prosecco for no reason at all. The menu was all in Italian so we decided to just ask... read more

As always Osteria 44 is our family's oasis. We have known Sergio Mignanelli for over 10 years, even before his outstanding Quaranta Quattro. Always helpful, always a gentleman and providing the most eclectic food and wine parings. Our hats off to a place that doesn't churn out mass produced entrees, as many Roma restaurants do. Via Aureliana is quiet and... More

Had an amazing valentines meal! Excellent food and exceptional service. Very helpful staff especially for non-italian speaking customers.

I have been here several times and keep coming back. First: it's bright, light and modern. Second: the food is very Italian and WONDERFUL! Last but not least: the service is ALWAYS fabulous!!!! It's not a slice of Pizza sort of place....it is relaxing, peaceful and civilized. If you are a tourist and expect cheap... go somewhere else!!!!

Recommended by our hotel and did not disappoint. A little empty on a wet Tuesday evening in January and the other guests were mainly well dressed local business people. Attentive service and first class food. Good wine list. Not the cheapest place in the area but way less than the glitzy overpriced places in the centre.

Our family of six ate at a number of wonderful restaurants in Florence and Rome over the past two weeks and our Christmas Eve dinner at Osteria 44 was far and away the best. While it was indeed not to be confused with cheap it was well worth the money spent. Fantastic food, good wine, solid service (we loved Sergio)... More

Our hotel suggested osteria 44 and it was the most expensive restaurant we visited during our two weeks in Italy but food was very ordinary. Complimentary prosecco and zucchini blossoms were lovely but it went downhill from there. Pasta was not homemade and my veal was overcooked. For 42 euros for one entree, (and 30 per appetizer) I expect much... More

After being advised by our hotel like everyone else mostly Americans and English. The menu which was conveniently only in Italian , left the owner 'Sergio' with the arduous tasking of recommending the most expensive options available. In all fairness the food was ok but the service which was poor and took an eternity to be served is well overrated... More

Nice place and the main manager/owner showed genuine interest but that doesn't make it a 4 star and certainly not worth the hype of the other reviews. I went in Dec 2014 The waiter we had was ok, a little abrupt, maybe the Italian way. The food was very nice but the menu only in Italian. If you don't read... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
