Recommended by our hotel and did not disappoint. A little empty on a wet Tuesday evening in January and the other guests were mainly well dressed local business people. Attentive service and first class food. Good wine list. Not the cheapest place in the area but way less than the glitzy overpriced places in the centre.

Our family of six ate at a number of wonderful restaurants in Florence and Rome over the past two weeks and our Christmas Eve dinner at Osteria 44 was far and away the best. While it was indeed not to be confused with cheap it was well worth the money spent. Fantastic food, good wine, solid service (we loved Sergio)... More

Our hotel suggested osteria 44 and it was the most expensive restaurant we visited during our two weeks in Italy but food was very ordinary. Complimentary prosecco and zucchini blossoms were lovely but it went downhill from there. Pasta was not homemade and my veal was overcooked. For 42 euros for one entree, (and 30 per appetizer) I expect much... More

After being advised by our hotel like everyone else mostly Americans and English. The menu which was conveniently only in Italian , left the owner 'Sergio' with the arduous tasking of recommending the most expensive options available. In all fairness the food was ok but the service which was poor and took an eternity to be served is well overrated... More

Nice place and the main manager/owner showed genuine interest but that doesn't make it a 4 star and certainly not worth the hype of the other reviews. I went in Dec 2014 The waiter we had was ok, a little abrupt, maybe the Italian way. The food was very nice but the menu only in Italian. If you don't read... More

We dined here on 12/10 at the recommendation of our concierge, were greeted by Sergio (believe he is the owner) at the door, he immediately sensed that we were American and it turns out he went to school in the UK and spoke perfect English. From that point forward, we felt like we were dining at the home of old... More

My husband and I enjoyed a leisurely, quiet, romantic dinner at Osteria 44. The owner personalized our meals to our requests. I had OssoBucco and my husband had veal. The meal and the service were impeccable, and the restaurant is beautifully chic. This was by far the best meal we had in Rome.

Let me begin by saying my wife and I grew up in Louisiana and go to New Orleans once a month to dine. We would consider ourselves to be "foodies." We just returned from a trip to Rome. While there, we wanted to try a more upscale restaurant. I read various reviews and settled on Osteria Quarantaquattro, and we were... More

Party of 3 on a slow (4-5 other tables occupied) Wednesday night. We received great attention from the owner who made terrific food and wine recommendations. The food was excellent and the price reasonable given the 4 courses and drinks.

friendly service who even translated the menu, what a service! Fair prices and great food. For me it was one of the best places to visit in Rome.
