Service and Food excellence

Brilliant service from all the staff. The owner makes sure every person is catered for just as they need. The food is classic Rome and perfectly cooked.

We were recommended this restaurant from our nearby hotel (St Regis). The food was outstanding. My guests had a number of pasta dishes, which they both said were excellent. I had fillet steak, which I have to say is the best I have ever eaten. Accompanied with a mixed salad before the steak, and a combination of mushrooms and deliciously... More

We arrived promptly for our reservation at 8pm. The first of our food arrived at 9:45, nearly 2 hours after we were seated. We had planned on having a lovely 4 course meal but as our order was not taken for a full hour, we decided on some appetizers and pasta. The good news is the food is superb, the... More

We arrived with no reservation & were warmly welcomed with a complimentary glass of prosecco. The staff were all very friendly (apart from ?the owner who made us feel quite uncomfortable every time he was around, standing at our table saying nothing but staring at us, & at the end abrupt when we were paying). We were offered assistance with... More

Despite not having a reservation my wife and I were warmly welcomed by Sergio and given a small glass of Prossecco to help us in our menu considerations. Sergio is a fantastic host taking time to get t know you and making sure that you feel welcome. His explanation of what was on the menu was first class but all... More

The food was fabulous and the service was even better. The host, Sergio, makes every guest feel like they are personal guests in his home. His English is perfect and he took time to sit with us and make recommendations for our meal. We trusted him and we were not disappointed. This is must-eat in Rome!

This restaurant is in a nice part of Rome, not far from the five star hotels on Via Veneto. It has outside seating, but it's  right on the street and cars go past next to where you're sitting. The menus were only in Italian, which was surprising given the number of English-speaking tables, but the waiter translated everything for us.... More

We have arrived late at our hotel without reservations for dinner anywhere. The front desk called 44 and made a reservation for us. We sat outside. The food was delicious. A particular type of mushroom was in season, so Sergio recommended the salad made with that mushroom and even brought out a few in their natural state for us to... More

This was our last night in Rome's choice for dinner. I wish we had found out about 44 the first night and I would have gone there 3 nights in a row! Let me just say that Sergio was fantastic. He helped select our dinner choices and they couldn't have been more flavorful or suited to each of us! He... More

Our group of six was greeted by the owner, Sergio, with a complimentary glass of Prosecco - a nice start to great dining experience. The owner sat with our table to help with the meal selections and wine match. His recommendations were perfect for all in our party. He's seasoned veteran in the fine dinning game. Two in our group... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
