I'm a budget traveler backpacking through Europe (aka, I normally spend 5 euro on dinner at the most). I heard about Ostia da Fortunata from a guy at our hostel and it was out of this world. Best food I have ever had and worth every penny. There is a woman out front hand rolling the pasta and I saw... More

We ate at a number of restaurants in Rome. We ate a lot of pasta. Everyone in our family felt this was by far the best place we ate and the best Pasta. They have a station right in the middle of the dining area where you can watch as a chef makes fresh pasta. The pasta was tender and... More

Anything with tomato and basil is great. Buffalo mozzarella is off the charts. Frito misto is incredible especially rice balls and zucchini flowers. Cheese ravioli with pomodoro basilico is the best.

You cannot find authentic traditional Italian dishes in Italy, everything is touristic. However, there are some close to traditional ones like Da Fortunata. The lady prepares the pasta fresh right in the middle of the restaurant and you are welcome to take pictures. She is full of fun and poses for you. The menu is hand written and changes daily.... We went here with another family visiting Rome. And it turned out to be an excellent choice! All the dishes everyone ordered had to be tasted by everyone else! We simply could not believe everything was really good. I had the Carbonara which was excellent. The ravioli's as well were excellent. You can't go wrong here. BUT I hated the... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by our B&B hostess, and we are so glad we took her advice! This is real, authentic, Italian home-cooking for you. It is not fancy, but the food is fresh and fantastic! Everything is made to order... including the hand-rolled pasta! The service was great, and we both left absolutely stuffed! YUM!

The fresh pastas, mussels and clams, veal, all very tasty and very satisfying Roman Italian food. The chef is the matron of the family, and the daughter, son-in-law, sister-in-law, and miscellaneous other familia help in the dining room. It's fun, relaxed and bright. If you are looking for a sophisticated atmosphere or stylish decor, this won't work. If you want... More

We went here our first night in Rome based on the reviews. Yes, the woman making fresh pasta at the front us a very nice touch, and the food is okay. This doesn't make up for overpricing, slow and sour service, and their lack of desire to provide customer service when their 'internet is down'. They couldn't take visa according... More

A delightful authentic restaurant in a quiet corner just off the Campo de Fiori. Cute Italian grandma rolling fresh pasta out the front. Service was very slow and the waitstaff bustled around chaotically. It took a while for a waiter to direct us to a table, from which we were then moved to another after 10 minutes. 10 minutes after... More

.....you KNOW its going to be good. My family of 4 reserved dinner at Osteria da Fortunata on our first jet-lagged day in Rome and it was the high moment of the day. We had 4 pasta dishes, a fresh salad, and went with the waiter's choice on two shared desserts. The carbonara, ravioli pomodoro and the ragu were all... More
