Best meal we had in Rome!

Anyone who says the only good reviews of this place must be coming from friends of the owner is talking rubbish. We stumbled across this place by pure accident and are so glad we did. I think we were enticed by the chef rolling fresh pasta in the front window (which I later ended up eating). The... read more

Osteria da Fortunata is the sort of restaurant I never go to unless I get a recommendation. From the street it looks like a touristic restaurant; the mama is by the door preparing the pasta, which sounds - I admit - like a tourist trap. However, the restaurant is worth every single cent. The staff are very friendly and helpful,... More

i have had better pasta for 5 euros in Rome. Went for lunch and the place was empty at 1 pm, despite what other reviews claimed. Maybe owners friends wrote the reviews? The pasta wasn't bad, but far from what best Rome offers, and definitely does not justify the 50 euros price we paid for 2.

The restaurant was recommended by the owner of our rental apartment. We had a fantastic dinner - with wine, fresh made pasta, and the most delicious tiramisu I have ever had. Our waiter was lovely - friendly, warm, and funny. The location is right off Campo di Fiori, which makes it easy to access and a great stop after a... More

The Osteria da Frotunata was highly recommended by a good foodie Roman friend of mine. The Chef and the owner were fabulous as their organic homemade pasta plates (if you have intolerance to gluten you are safe you will not get sick at all + there is no GMO allows in Italy!). All ingredients are natural as Mother Earth has... More

Thought we d give this place a try as we were staying locally.. liked the look of "Nonna" making pasta in the window ! Service was slow..and I don't like it if people who can speak the language fluently get served before us..not a great start. Anyway, had a selection of antipasti to start & share but nothing special. I... More

We had this place recommended by a friend we met in London just a few weeks before visiting, and were really glad we did. So glad in fact, that we dined here pretty much every night we stayed in Rome! The food is absolutely delicious, the staff couldn't possibly be any more friendly and welcoming, and the place is comfortable... More

The Amatriciana is one of the best I've ever had. The Carbonara is good but more cheesy and creamy that I was expecting. The Artichoke starter was fantastic and the canoli was perfect. We stumbled onto this place after reading the reviews on tripadvisor for Lunch. It is incredibly authentic and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Authentic atmosphere, with great homemade food. The pasta is made in a corner of the restaurant, upon orders and simply taste amazing, especially the carbonara. The wine is good, and at a great price. Tiramisu was also great, with a great flavour. The service was the best we have had in Rome (3rd visit to Rome), very quick smiling and... More
