Authentic and tasty

No frills place, delicious food and a lively waiter. I loved my Carbonara, fresh and yummy. My girlfriends artichoke pasta had a problem: the stalks had not been removed. I also had garlic bread, I liked that it came with a piece of raw garlic I could run into the bread as I like lots of it. We... read more

The "Drunken Cow" was the first restaurant we ate at in Rome and wish we could have made it back for an additional meal or two. It's a bit off the beaten path but well worth searching out. The menu presents a a large selection of options... pizza, pasta, meats, seafood... at fair prices. We had the artichoke, pasta dishes... More

Sadly, I found this amazing restaurant on my last day in Rome. I was the first person seated for lunch, and being the only person in a restaurant is not a wonderful feeling -- you wonder if you've made the right choice. I needn't have worried. Within 15 minutes the place was brim full of local diners. I ordered the... More

We ate here while on holiday in Rome. The hotel we were staying at suggested this place to us as it was close by, we were tired and didn't want to be bothered with dressing up for dinner. It was one of the nicest meals we had in Rome. Loved looking around the restaurant as well with all it's interesting... More

My husband and I had dinner here on our second night in Rome and absolutely loved it!!! It's a small, quiet place with lovely staff. They were super friendly and helpful. The food itself is simply delicious and incredibly well priced, the portions are quite big too! They serve authentic, delicious Italian food. We will most definitely be coming back... More

We happen to stubble upon this place when we arrived late night in Rome. We were starving and the chef was sitting outside and convinced us to come in for a meal, so we did. The food was really good! I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. Even the simple pasta dishes were to... More

A wonderful hosteria not far from the colosseum, with casual atmosphere and good eats. The carciofo alla giudia (fried artichoke) antipasto here is up there with the best. The staff were a bit jaded after a long shift, but luckily the kitchen compensated.
