Sofia is our pet dog and mascot,…. a friendly and loving Jack Russell who accompanies us in our adventures. This is why we decided to give our most precious project her name!

An intimate, family-run restaurant with very few rules of thumb:

a menu which respects the seasons, using the finest of Italian produce, always fresh every day;
traditional Italian recipes together with other dishes specially created by our chef, and inspired by the flavours and colours of Mediterranean cuisine;
our desire that your lunch or dinner take place in intimate surroundings and make you “feel at home”.

After spending a delightful weekend in Rome we wanted to eat somewhere more contemporary and modern. We found Sofia on Trip Advisor and fell in love with the place. The couple that ran the restaurant were professional and friendly tending to our every need. The food was absolutely delicious, the free appetisers were a fantastic touch and everything was fresh... Again, Tripadvisor helped me find a restaurant that was perfect. The host and hostess were very friendly and clearly have a passion for food and languages. They were able to converse with guests in English, Spanish, Dutch and of course Italian. The food was excellent both in presentation and quality. The seaweed ravioli and swordfish carpaccio were delicious as were... More

Had dinner in that restaurant and was really satisfied by the quality of the food and good service. I tried their dishes made with vegetables and they were great from starter to main dish. Also recomended wines were good and price was absolutely reasonable for the quality of dinner I had.

Sofia was a few blocks from our apartment and recommended by the owner. We visited on our last evening in Rome. The restaurant is charming. The menu is well-curated and contemporary. My pear risotto with quail confit and grilled quail leg was divine. Sofia has an excellent wine list as well. My husband, adult son, and I had a lovely... More

The food was awesome, but I won't recommend it to those who don't like fish (almost all of the dishes in the menu had fish). The staff was really kind and polite. Good value for money. Ask for Sofia, you'll be surprised ;)

Despite being in a touristy area, Sofia is a real restaurant. Service was terrific - very friendly and sincere. Menu was creative with some interesting twists on traditional Roman food. Tiramisu was exceptional.

This small, cosy and very nice restaurant is FANTASTIC! FOOD IS EXCELLENT! 5 star quality. It was so testy. For me it was a total pleasant surprise. This is family business and it is a plus. Perfect Italian cousin. Fish was excellent, starters exclusive, vine is good selected.

My family and I came here for lunch upon recommendation of the hotel. Compared to other restaurants in Rome, this one seems to be more of a foodie restaurant where they're experimenting and making alternate preparations of food. So that being said, I thought that Sofia was great but my wife wasn't as impressed by the food. So my rating... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
