Yes it was that good!

I was lucky enough to have a sit without reservation - but you'd better make one in advance, as the room is limited. This restaurant is the one wich worth a visit, even in Rome - with so many great places to eat. This is not a 'traditional' Italian restaurant, with all these checked tablecloth, but... read more

Great food modern restaurant. Traditional dishes served with a slightly higher price than some but worth the trip for the experience. This was our second night out in rome. Located very close to the Spanish steps so worth a walk along there and down the backstreets for a few drinks in the night

I don't really like making restaurant reservations on the phone, especially when abroad in a country where English isn't a first language. I appreciate that Sofia has an online reservation system. I ordered the following per recommendation from the waitress - grilled scallops with dill-scented creamed fennel - fettuccine with sea bass and baby squid - steamed Mediterranean bonito with... Enjoyed Sofia's good food and friendly staff. We shared our whole meal - salad, main course and dessert. Often a problem or an extra charge in the U.S., but it was no trouble at all for Sofia.

I went here with my family when we were visiting Rome, as it was a close walk to our hotel and highly recommended by the hotel. The recommendation was a great one, as it was our favorite meal in Rome. The food was so good and fresh, with interesting combinations. The dessert was heavenly. Beyond how amazing the food was,... Staff was really polite and helpful. Food was delicious but portion size was a little small. Recommend sitting inside as outside is on a slope.

Sofia came highly recommended by friends that had visited previously and I must agree it was fantastic! From start to finish the meal & bubbly was fantastic. Great service by two very hard working ladies. The swordfish was mouthwatering perfection.

The restaurant is perfect for a couple: it's cozy and romantic. however the service is long and the food good but not a lot in the plate and expensive.

Our last night in Rome, we found this place and really loved it! We just wanted some wine, and the owner offered a great one for our taste. And i ate my very best tiramisu so far :) The owner was extremely friendly and welcoming. You should definitely try the Sofia! :)

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
