Avoid the merde in Campo di Fiori

We first came across Cantina Lucifero 3 years ago. We fell in love then. We have returned . As a couple of Foodies that know something about flavours we keep getting impressed. We looked on trip advisor whilst in Rome for a place to eat on our last night. Decided on this one based on reviews alone & proximity to our hotel. Best choice we made I emailed ahead to see if they could fit us in. I advise boking as its a small place although they have plans to extend. When... More

A friend recommended this little cantina, and boy am I happy I have friends with good taste! The place was packed with happy diners as we came in. We were in Rome just for a layover and hadn't reserved a table, but we were lucky and got one. Our waitress was awesome, perfectly cheeky and good humoured. She recommended a... More

We were lucky to get a table in this tiny authentically Italian restaurant where the tables are so close together you are basically sharing with strangers. That all just added to the charm of the place though. The owner was so relaxed, friendly and helpful and the service good. The food was simple but delicious and the welcome glass of... More

Felt compelled to write a review after saw that someone else mentioned it seemed like a tourist trap. I had an awesome dinner here and the night that I was there, the restaurant was very full (maybe one or two tables free) and with the exception of one French family and me, all of the diners were speaking Italian. The... More

This one was not a real disappointment, but it was nothing like what we expected, namely a charming, good small place where locals go. First of all, it's a tourist ONLY place (not a single table with locals), the service is rather superficial, although kind of friendly, and our starters we had ranged from terrible (that eggplant parmigiana gross!) to... We got free champagne as a start. we ordered a cheese plate for starter, which was one of the best that we had in Rome. The main courses were good and could have been more. We described which type of wine we want to have and the waitress brought us two different wines to chose from. The desert was also... More

Excellent! Best meal we have had in Italy. Small restaurant that my son found on his first night if being in Rome for junior year study abroad. He liked it so much that when we came to visit he wanted to take us there. We were turned away the first night (no reservations), so we returned the following night with... More

Having just returned from a weekend in Rome I have to say this was definitely the culinary highlight. We'd searched TripAdvisor for a little authentic Italian to try some real local food - we couldn't have found a better place for it! It's a tiny little, tucked away restaurant so we had our hotel ring up and book us a... More

Just perfect! Friendly staff, glass of complimentary wine to start the meal and great pasta! The tiramisu is just perfect. Great value for food
