We were only in Rome for one night so we wanted to make sure we had a decent meal and this place definitely didn't disappoint. We were able to try the wine before we decided which bottle we wanted and the owner explained the varieties etc. Food was incredible - the mustard steak was so tender and cooked exceptionally well.... fabulous atmosphere, welcome & food to die for (especially the creme brulee) Friendly staff willing to advise with the gorgeous menu & wine and as a cat lover the bonus of the divine Miss Lucy who is not allowed in the cantina but who is kindly cared for by the staff

Cantina Lucifero not only has the BEST food but it is reasonably priced & the perfect atmosphere for an amazing meal near the centre. We were immediately greeted with champagne & bread (on the house) as well as smiles and an appreciation for true, authentic, Italian cooking! The staff was eager to explain each dish (where it was from, how... More

Very welcoming to english speaking guests, which is a plus, as it was aour first night in Rome and we were a little conscious of being rude/touritsy. Upon arrival treated to a complimentary prosecco - which is delicious! Andy our incredible host recommended menu items and acted as our wine list in a completely un-pushy way. Everything was about flavour,... More

Cantina Lucifero was a pleasant surprise. It's in the city centre but not a low quality restaurant for tourists. the quality of wine and food is excellent, the atmosphere familiar and the service very good. The place is small and looks wonderful. We went there with children and we regret this a little, it's really a place for special occasions.

We went to Taverna Lucilfero and had no reservation. The owner apologized that he didn’t have a table and I told him how disappointed we were. He said he could solve our problem and got one of staff to take us to his son’s restaurant Cantina Lucifero as I explained that I got constantly lost. The restaurant was close by... More

Great place, the food was really really good. We wanted something fresh but didn't want the same old pizza or pasta dishes. Service made you feel like they wanted you there and made you feel at home also very reasonably priced for the food! It's a must if you visit Rome

We chose this restaurant from the reviews and the fact that it was close to Campo Fiori. We rejected the restaurants in the Campo as being too touristy. The owner of this one is as friendly as you would wish, welcomes you with a complementary glass of wine, and advises you as to the best choices from the menu. The... More

We first tried this restaurant based on the Trip adviser rating. The place was so great we went back again. The owner goes over the menu with you and explains what was made fresh that day and makes suggestions on what to order. This is after he gives you a free glass of Champagne. The food is excellent but even... More
