I tend to only review the best and worse places I go to and this definitely is the best place we ate at in Rome. I was a bit sceptical at first as the area doesn't look the part, but it was our first night in Rome and it was near our hotel (Cinemusic), probably a 20 minute leisurely stroll.... More

Had dinner here last night, I had the spaghetti and my wife had the meatballs both meals were delicious, the beer was also very nice and local, the basket of bread was a pleasant surprise, but the highlight was the strawberry, cream and chocolate dessert - wow amazing, the whole restaurant ambience was classy, relaxed and soft jazz music and... We came to this delightful bistro after reading trip advisor reviews for restaurants in this area (very close to our hotel). Fabulous meal, delightful service, eclectic menu, breads and deserts made in house, delicious wines suggested, tasted and drunk! Knowledgable and attentive staff/owners. Charming, we would certainly recommend this little treasure!

We stumbled onto this restaurant and were thrilled with every single detail. The atmosphere is cozy and intimate. The waitress was warm, friendly and very skilled. But it was the wine and food that took the experience over the top. Everything that we ordered was special, from the rice salad to the pasta to the salmon to the salad to... More

Small restaurant in San Giovanni neighborhood (at walking distance from Re Di Roma metro station), the place is finely decorated and you can enjoy a discrete background jazz music, high quality fresh food prepared on place (the kitchen is open to check ;-) with homemade pasta and both fish and meat dishes, together with a rich choice of wines, the... Enjoyed one of the most delicious gluten-free meals I've had in the last few years here! The pasta I had was excellent, and my husband claimed the 'regular' pasta he had was also delicious. The white-chocolate cake (also gf) was one of the best desserts I've ever eaten, bar none, gf or otherwise. Good attentive and knowledgeable staff as well.... More

Good fresh food from a small menu. Italian kitchen with more than just the typical standard options. Very nice service and relaxed atmosphere.

This restaurant was within walking distance of where we were staying and looked like a more genuine article than the touristy hotspots we'd been eating in at lunch, so we gave it a try. Small menu (but delicious!), extensive wine list. Service was fantastic with English menu and English speaking waiting staff.

This was our first time staying in San Giovanni, and we were very lucky to end up at Vintage Bistrot. Very friendly service, great wine, interesting and unusual menu. Quiet and classy. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Vintage Bistrot is a stylish cafe in the heart of the San Giovanni neighborhood, just a short walk from the Re di Roma metro stop. Anna, the owner and her staff run a welcoming and efficient restaurant with fresh ingredients and an innovative and ever changing menu. Apertivo is divine with lovely cheeses and meats served on homemade bread. The... More
