Good quick stop for breakfast

We only stayed up the road from here and we're recommended by hotel and TripAdvisor of hotel to try here so we did on our first morning. It's important to note that breakfast doesn't seem to be a big deal in Italy, most settling for a coffee, sometimes with a cigarette, but when they eat... read more

Extremely rude staff and lousy food. This is a tourist trap and nothing more. We would never go near the place again. Walk another block or two and you will find many fine restaurants with nice people who want to serve you.

This bar is a few steps from the apartment we rent on via frattina and it literally became a second home. We go there for our morning coffee and a quick bite. We also stop for a hot chocolate (to die for), a snack a day a drink and brunch. In addition to the lovely food, coffee a day hot... More

We asked for the assorted sandwich option, instead we were served the leftover sandwich on display. When I enquired what I should have asked for from the menu, the waiter suddenly pretended not to understand ... appaulling image of a wonderful city. Avoid this place at all cost.

On a nice sunny afternoon, we decided to stop for coffee and glace. The home made glace looked good, as well as the tartufos. We ordered 2 cappuccinos that were average, and 2 tartufos, that in fairness were very good. We were served by a unfriendly waiter and the whole team of waiters seemed unfriendly, really not nice at all.... More

Thursday was our free (no tours day) shopping day. Stopped off here, waited a wee while to be served. But the tray of crisps, nuts, olives and sandwiches were a surprise, but tasty none-the-less. Nice place for a short stop. Plenty of locals enjoying lunch. Decent prices for drinks..

Stopped for a spritz Aperol and we got a tray of tasty bar snacks. Average price, but great location near the Spanish Stairs.

We waited for a table outside for about 5 minutes. We needed an afternoon shot of caffeine. The restaurant is located on a busy side street full of shoppers and tourists. What else would you expect in Rome, just steps from the Trevi Fountain? The caffe latte's were very good, if not a little small. We also ordered chocolate gelato... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
